Layoffs in november ??

Heard some people got a two week notice last friday (nov 5th) ?? Is this part of matching numbers with the VMW spinoff ? This isn't their typical time of the year

HR case for federal vaccination requirement

Has anyone that hasn't been vaccinated yet opened an HR case to check if they're included in the federal vaccination requirement? They had mentioned it was necessary to open an HR case by 11/5 and I was wondering what the HR response was like.

Replacement = irreversibly lost knowledge

Dell thinks everyone is easily replaceable, but that's not the case. If by replacement they mean to replace an excellent employee who has the expertise, skills and experience, with an employee who has none of that - then it is true, everyone is ... — read more

Unreasonable deadlines

Is it just happening to me or are the deadlines at Dell becoming increasingly unreasonable? I have a lot of experience thanks to which I still somehow manage to meet the deadlines, but I have a colleague who did not come here so long ago and who is... — read more

New Covid retirement for US

What is the perceived consequences for those requesting to not get the shot, willing to be tested, but still being targeted to be terminated?

Had Enough!!!

Seriously.I have just had enough of this company. I have worked at this company for over 20 years and have had my fair share of ups and downs, as well as Dell being very supportive over the years and also working with some great team members and... — read more

Forbes World's Best Employers

My last post when I dared say Dell is not that bad as an employer as some say got heavily downvoted but here we are several weeks later and Dell once again ranked among the top ten world's best employers. Considering that Forbes uses employee surveys... — read more

It’s a mess, just watch Deepak, the ring leader of the mess, he will be out. How many jobs will have to pay the price for his snake oil.

How many were cut?

Two weeks since Dell announced some cuts I’ve spent hoping that I might find myself on the layoff list but nothing happened. I’m glad at least that some other people, who were afraid of it, that they are still there. Do you know how many people were... — read more

Newbies have no enthusiasm

When I think back to my first month when I came to Dell, I was very enthusiastic and tried to show everything I know, and I didn’t really know all that much. However, I had colleagues who pointed out some things to me and helped me. What is... — read more

Dell is still among the best

Say what you will, but Dell is still among the best employers. I've worked at several other industry giants before and I know the true definition of a toxic culture. What we have is certainly not it. I think people are simply too sensitive these days... — read more

I miss my old colleagues

Every company has to change, but the problem is that I don't see Dell changing for the better. Today I am quite depressed because another colleague has left. Now this feels like a completely different company for me. All the colleagues I really... — read more

No downside

If implemented fully at Dell, the vaccine mandate will force some people to quit. Not too many, but enough to slow down any possible layoffs that were coming our way (or maybe even cancel them altogether.) As somebody who's been fully vaccinated for... — read more

restructured or forced out?

Follow your intuition- Don't be fooled by trolls who make sarcastic comments! This is NOT FAKE NEWS! There are layoffs happening- call it restructuring or whatever! A SIGNIFICANT number of tenured employees over 45 of all genders were impacted. AND... — read more

Elevate yourself, invest in yourself

In which ways are you expanding your skillset? People like to complain because it’s a way to vent their frustrations about this place. This is good because others who intend to work here can also be made aware of what problems people are facing here... — read more

Layoffs around the corner?

I’ve heard some rumors that there could be significant layoffs soon, but hopefully they’ll just remain rumors. Some managers are leaving so there is a lot of speculation going around, however, unfortunately, rumors often come true. I’m not... — read more

Why we're always hiring

Lots of openings because they are always having under-the-radar layoffs of older and/or higher paid employees, as well as offshoring and replacing American workers. This is exactly what's been happening. If we don't hear about major layoffs that's... — read more

Dell, can you keep promises?

Employees are given lots of promises but Dell delivers none of that...... I don’t see those good changes.

Has the atmosphere ever been more tense?

Everything will be much clearer after the earnings report, however, judging by the atmosphere... the future is gloomy. I hope I’m not right, but to me personally it seems like the layoffs are around the corner.

Early retirement can't come soon enough

I really wish I didn't have to wait for another two years. I'm stressed out as it is and the closer I get to the date, the more I worry about being laid off. I used to enjoy my job but now the constant threat of layoffs has taken all the fun out of... — read more

Can you imagine yourself in this company next year?

I can’t and unfortunately, I’m not optimistic that next year could be nice at Dell. I’m willing to accept a much worse option just to not stay here anymore. This is not a company, this is a dinosaur.

Why so many reorgs?

Dell could soon become better known for its constant reorgs and layoffs happening in silence, than for new products. Job stability is a utopia, but here I am really tired of being in constant fear of what the new reorganization will bring. Do... — read more

Finding a new position as software developer

What do you guys think of the NPS score?

When I joined Dell through an acquisition, in the first Tell Dell survey we all filled it honestly - the good and the bad. As a result, my unit was one of the lowest scoring in Dell, and we immediately heard about it from management - our culture is... — read more
