It's not that I don't want to work for Belk anymore, but I don't want to work for top dogs for whom this company serves only for personal gain. And it’s not that there are no options, I found an alternative very quickly. I refuse to continue to allow... — read more
Ross Stores has opened 30 new stores, with 30 more by year end
Not every retailer is stumbling, fumbling, sinking. And guess who the EVP/CFO for Ross Stores may be? Hint? He's another of the talents who ran away from Belk to join a winning team.
Belk hiring 5,000 people by end of year?? what??
So let me fully understand this...As of February 2021 Belk has $7 million to its name, not even enough to make payroll and filed one day-chapter 11 all the way in Houston Texas where Belk has not one store, then got a $225 million boost of funds... — read more
Belk has been voted the #4 worst company in America by Workplace Magazine
I was reading (i think I have the right name) “workplace“ magazine at the doctors office the other day, it had the 50 worst companies to work for in America. I believe Belk was #4 on the list. That says a lot.
HOW LOW CAN YOU GO BELK 124?
Very low. You disregarded, and disrepected the loyal associates who worked for you for years, by giving new hires 12.00 per hour. Enjoy those inexperienced associates, we're out.
What is Belks policy on manager, and store manager qualifactions, and requirements?
I do not understand how some people became managers, whats the requirements? Or is it about who you know, that you get the position? From my retail experience, it seems the best managers previously worked as associates.
WHERE IS NIR PATEL?
Has anyone seen Mr. Patel in person or in a store since he took over?
ALL EMPLOYEES DEMAND A RAISE FROM STORE MANAGER! ALL NEW EMPLOYEES NOW GET $15/HR AS OF OCT 1ST
DO NOT ALLOW BELK TO EXPLOIT YOU. IF YOU MAKE LESS THAN $15 DEMAND A RAISE EQUAL TO WHAT NEW HIRES ARE BEING PAID. IF YOU MAKE MORE THAN $15 DEMAND A RAISE EQUAL TO THE BUMP UP IN PAY OTHER EMPLOYEES RECIEVED. THIS IS ONLY FAIR. BELK IS EXPLOITING... — read more

$15 an hour, what's the catch?
Most, if not all $15 an hour new hires will get minimal hours. Under 20 hours per week. Just about all of them are temporary holiday help, they will be gone on Dec 26th! Store Managers will have to pick up the slack for the payroll budget... — read more
Non Belk gift cards
Why are we selling third party gift cards? We look like CVS doing such. Just behond belief. Another small step in the wrong direction.
As a long term employee I feel exploited
I’m glad when new hires are happy with their pay. Still, I feel taken advantage of in a way because they are paid the same as an employee who shows them how to do work and who corrects their mistakes. Belk seems to be proving over and over again how... — read more
$$ 15 an hour!!
I can’t believe all the employees at out store in Monroe are making $15 an hour ,, that’s what Belk should have done a long time ago!! Who else store is doing this ? We heard only the few that couldn’t find help are doing it?!
The Actual Cost of Employee Attrition
I still can't believe that it's more cost efficient for Belk if new employees stick around for only a few days and leave, and then new ones come who also stay for only a few days and leave as well. I'm not an expert in business strategy but to me... — read more
Double Double
I am curious why Belk is giving us serfs more , now what's called associates'appreciation day, events? I'm all for it so I can buy our cheap , and I mean that in every way possible, merchandise. Could it be Belk is desperate for cash flow no matter... — read more

STORE MANAGER, try doing what the associates do
You critique us on bopis, picks, Belk apps, emails, clean dressing rooms, and recovery. Why don't you continually stand for 8 hours and do what we do?
I don’t believe it can be worse than this
I’m here for a few more days because I got an offer for another job. It was funny when a colleague told me that I shouldn't have done it and that I wouldn't be able to cope with the situation there. C'mon, could it be much worse than here? I am... — read more
WHY 6 REGISTERS? When I'm the only one checking customers out.
This is beyond ridiculous, having six registers combined when only one person checks customers out. Just another show from Belk, and as always using associates to the full extent.
You can't make a silk purse from a sows ear
You can paint, put up new signs, move registers, change merchandise, profess to be fashionable and liberal, have continuous sales, but we all know what's going on Belk. You're grasping at straws.
If you work at corporate...
and survived the layoffs...how much has your workload increased in your department compared to what it was...Just curious...
BELK (part of the Ebenezer Scrooge Corporate Association))

Competitive pay and flexible schedules...Really?????
belk is always hiring because they cannot retain good employees. Has anyone noticed those pre recorded messages over the P.A. saying belk offers flexible schedules and competitive pay? does anyone take those seriously ??
Pushing people way over their limits
I'm not complaining. It's more like criticism. It is not right for a company to push people over limits to such an extent. I mean, it's not unusual for retail, but it seems to me that Belk is not among the retail companies that squeeze people the... — read more

belk keeps on’ keepin on
No matter what is said on this websight, belk keeps on shufflin’ along. She may be old, broken, unstylish, and downright ratchet, but she keeps staying afloat. Those Kim Rogers tshirts are Payin the bills.
How long can you tolerate it?
Those who tolerate working conditions at Belk for the longest time and do not believe in themselves that they can do much better end up worse off as a result.
Chaps leaving?

CEO VISITS BELK STORES
