OK, I understand that we are all replaceable for them, but does the manager have to make that clear every day? I do the best I can, I try hard and patiently endure the whole situation along the way. Should a manager demoralize us in this way on a daily basis? I wonder if that person feels better when they ruin our day right at the start. What an awful management style!

A good leader and Belk store manager influence and inspire the uninspired associates.
A bad and stupid Belk store manager threaten and bully the uninspired associates. Sound about right at Belk leadership management style!

My flagship Belk Store Manager always loves morning meeting. She is also proud that she graduated from Ivy League Business schools many years ago. You are so right! That is why I don't go to morning meeting because it is boring and time wasting for me at Belk.
These managers love hear themselves talk, demoralize associates and abuse their power!
Belk in Snellville?
Where store managers hire friends to be managers, and keyholders
And why the hill does store manager decide to do the meeting at 9:55? Customers wait at the door, while we have to listen to the same speech, get credits, emails and Belk app downloads.
These managers love hear themselves talk, and abuse their power.
We get the same threats and humiliation every morning meeting. Oh, as a bonus we have a new sales captain who truly is the devil. The fun never stops at 0396,Oxford, Mississippi . PS I'm so thankful to be scheduled after 10 am lately!
“When I talk to managers, I get the feeling that they are important. When I talk to leaders, I get the feeling that I am important.” as someone said long time ago. Belk leaderships fails terrible because they practice do what I say but don't do what I do philosophy!
“You do not lead by hitting people over the head — that’s as----t, not leadership.”– Dwight Eisenhower
You all missing the point about "Terrible Management" discussion above! While it is
important to go to college to have a degree in engineering, biology, business management or whatever an individual choose to study in college. However, having an "expensive college degree" does not make that person a "good leader" in human communications and inspire teamwork in people! Take a look at Jimmy Carter, a highly intelligent man, ex-governor of Georgia State and Georgia Tech graduated, but he failed as one term ex-president in 1980 against former ex-Ronald Reagan in 1980! There are many successful CEO Moguls never graduated from college like Steve Jobs of Apple, Larry Edison of Oracle, Michael Dell, Richard Branson and the list go on...Tell me then if the current Belk CEO and your store manager really "inspire" and "motivate" you everyday at Belk?
I doubt any store leaders attended Yale for a career in retail.
I doubt any career in retail leads to the promise land.
Stupid comment…
Belk store managers with people skills? Oh I just had a good laugh. Did you write that
One yourself?
It is an easy answer. In the movie God Father 2, Santino Corleone said to Michael: “ What do you go to college for? To get stupid! You are really stupid!
Belk Store Managers and STMs don’t need college degrees to manage associates, they need people skills and common senses to lead people to the promise land! You can’t buy and purchase “that wisdom” at Yale business class!
