For example, did this layoff affect analysts?
I guess the leadership wants to be first at something
We're not first at anything, from pay and benefits to results and everything in between, so I guess the leadership decided we'd be among the first to have layoffs this year. How many companies do you know that have started getting rid of people so... — read more
phishy ceo and hus cuts will ki-l the culture
After doing some reading I have to say the hiring of this ceo seems odd to me. Ally hires a CEO who was running TD banks retail banking which was caught violating AML And bank secrecy laws by allowing money laundering and giving gift cards to... — read more
Ally Layoofs
Layoff announcements today, the day after the leadership team signs an agreement with Carvana to purchase $4B of their paper. Bet Ally’s upper management is currently popping the champagne bottles toasting themselves. They probably made out like... — read more
I wish all the best to those impacted today
Don’t despair. Once you find another job, and I hope it will be very soon, you’ll instantly stop regretting having to leave this place. Compared to Ally, most pastures are indeed greener.
what groups
what departments were impacted and how many from each?
Are they done?
Just the Customer Care people today, or can we expect more layoffs?
Customer Care Layoffs
As usual, they cut the people who do the actual work and kept the management overhead
management su-ks
This company has some of the worst management ever. If you give them ANY feedback on themselves, you’re in for some intense micromanagement and bullying for months after until you quit. Horrible culture. Horrible morale.
Déjà vu
Anyone see the news about Ally Credit Card? Wonder if it will be sold in January just like Ally Lending was…
All the upcoming townhalls and all-hands -- A sign of trouble?
Seems like over the past few days a bunch of all-hands/townhall type meetings have been sent out. Is this normal quarterly activity, or should we be worried?
Layoffs coming?
As more banks are affected.. is there more layoffs coming due to recent news about stock going down?
Chief Procurement Officer fired/resigned?
Anyone know why the CPO was fired? I had a meeting scheduled with him that day and next thing I know it’s canceled abruptly and a communication goes out that he’s no longer with the company.
Ally Sued for Discrimination over Recent Layoffs
In the past, questions have been asked about the illegal DEI push and layoffs of senior level, middle-aged, white men. Someone has now sued. To those that have considered suing, I suggest you contact the law firm in the... — read more
Phishing and security
I overheard a very trusted employee telling another employee that the majority of the phishing and scam emails are an inside job. They are from disgruntled overseas ally/foundever employees. Not just terminated employees, but employees still working... — read more
DEI is out of control
Ally has managed to discriminate against white males over 40. Layoffs with many promotions of mediocre staff since releasing those who knew the most. Not doing it right.
What did yall think about todays TownHall?
A Lot of talking about "A.I." ... better than talking about LAY-OFF !! ^_^
Any coming layoffs?
At this point I am hoping some of you will say yes, just to push me to leave this place already.

Ally Lending Layoffs - Synchrony Acquisition
This move isn't surprising at all as Ally started to make a ton of noise in the home improvement space. It makes sense to boost our stock px and Synchrony is salivating to get their products into the banking vertical. I love how the message since the... — read more
Ally Lending Sold to Synchrony
Ally Lending employee here. Wondering if I’ll get lost in the shuffle. Synchrony seems like a nice place to work (ranked #25), but I’m worried they won’t have a place for me. Anyone have any info?
What does everyone feel about performance reviews this year?
Seems like Ally is using Annual reviews as a way to justify why you won't get any hikes and bonuses if there was any to pay after the tight budget announcement. HR has been super active and giving arbitrary policies as double dipping etc as valid... — read more
What do you make of DM leaving?
What do you make of DM leaving?
No reason to waste your life here
There are many better companies that treat employees much better than Ally. All the people I know who quit in the past few years still think that's the best decision they made career-wise. I've been looking for about a month now and as soon as I get... — read more

Will layoffs continue next week?
Was there any red flags?
For those laid off, were there any red flags prior to layoff. The red flags that I am seeing are: All work are being outsourced or done by the bot. Just a few months ago we were so busy we were overwhelmed but now work reduced by approx. 90% .. — read more
Sh---y company
Just a rant in 2022 I was given a verbal offer from HR saying they will be giving me an offer and with no salary talk. But ask me how much I wanted. I asked for 100k due to the fact I was a senior engineer at another financial company and trying to... — read more
Calm after the storm?
It’s gotten very quiet after the first round of layoffs… I know the email stated that more could happen in DFS in early november.. do we think that’s going to happen?

I hate the lack of transparency
This could have been handled so much better and with much better communication. It just goes to show how unimportant we are in the grand scheme of things for those in charge.
500 affected
Is it just me, or does it feel that number is underestimating the true scope of this layoff?
