Thread regarding Ally Financial Inc. layoffs

phishy ceo and hus cuts will ki-l the culture

After doing some reading I have to say the hiring of this ceo seems odd to me. Ally hires a CEO who was running TD banks retail banking which was caught violating AML And bank secrecy laws by allowing money laundering and giving gift cards to launders and we are talking hundreds of millions all under Mike Rhodes watch. He will probably do what he is known for cutting employees, pushing for results and higher returns and ki-ling the culture. Go read about the guy he us a piece of work. This is crazy.

He then goes to discover for 3 months and fires everyone making it a he-l hole and then comed to ally.

Word has it he is going to cut as much as he can then put everything on the cloud, fire most of the IT team, move all the positions he can to India.

Go read the posts on this site for TD and discover

I will paste links below!

Run while you can

Who would have ever thought we could have a CEO come in and make JB look like Einstein.

He seems so friendly like he cares about his employees but if you knew what was going on in the meetings with C suite you would know that his end game is to get everything handed over to a CS sweatshop in India. Untimely buying time until AI is ready to do most of the heavy lifting with a small scrappy team of devs and testers. The feeling is American devs cost to much and are too entitled.

If you are a young dev, please leave Ally while your career can still be saved. if you are one of the unfortunate few who is over 35, I guess lets hope that stock purchase plan starts hitting lol

There are documents on pulse that shouldn’t be viewable by everyone, that have a stated goal of increasing offshore workers by 15% and getting everything as automated as possible to prepare for that transition. Buckle up, this isn’t the end.

Sathish is mostly interested in taking selfies.

The new guy forgot the mission statement

"We’re in the business of putting people first and we’ve been doing just that for over 100 years" and the HR lady saying this

"Authenticity and trust remain fundamental to driving an engaged workforce—and so, too, does purpose-driven work—so we will continue to showcase employee stories and cultural initiatives while investing in upskilling and clear career paths.”

It seems like all financial companies are following a similar playbook of corruption and constant layoffs. Sathish's long term goal has always seemed to be moving everything to cheap Indian offshore labour, regardless of the fact that they're next to useless. He's just hiding behind the smoke and mirrors of progressing towards using AI as an excuse to keep his job as long as he's able to.

I have my suspicions as well. Ally did not do well financially last year and I'm curious to see the quarterly report later on this month. I will start job hunting.
