I feel like all the people I know who were impacted by the layoffs this week barely came into the office. Did that factor into how they selected the people they laid off? Would be more reassuring if that impacted it rather than just choosing random people. I always thought it strange when people complained about having to come in a few days a week given how most workers in this country have to go into their jobs everyday.

Correct. I came into the office as required. My coworker did as well. Both of us were cut. We suspect tenure/age and the higher salaries that come with those thingd.
Nope not a factor. The guy next to me probably came in 10 times in 2024 and did not get let go.
No. I followed the attendance and was still let go. Maybe some departments used that to decide who was let go. But the decision was 3 levels up from me. My immediate boss didn't even know I was being cut
