Thread regarding Ally Financial Inc. layoffs

I overheard a very trusted employee telling another employee that the majority of the phishing and scam emails are an inside job. They are from disgruntled overseas ally/foundever employees. Not just terminated employees, but employees still working for ally trying to make extra money on the side. Since they are mostly overseas and outsourced, if they get caught, they are just simply terminated. Not much laws to protect customers info if compromised by an overseas employee.
