I am currently (until tomorrow) an employee of Wayfair. I found out about the layoff through the news and social media. So sad!

Management (Sanjeev) sent email today that they are activating a global model, meaning jobs are going overseas. Update coming in the next few weeks, be ready!

They have already started the process, this will be global with the exception of India. Technology will be less affected, mainly marketing and customer service this time around. It will be a tough January.

A new tech center in India does not send good signals to the US based folks. This will save $400M but what about process, quality, itd. It'll be hard. I would not be surprised if people start to flee soon.
