Thread regarding Wayfair Inc. layoffs

Why is management silent?

That's not the way to lead.

Manager here. We were told yesterday, and even then, told nothing other than yes, layoffs are tomorrow.

Honestly, the mismanagement at this company is to blame. False promises, constant changing etc.

Only L6 even knew last time. L5s only 2 days prior. I think L5s were aware this time though a couple weeks ago.

Here is an example of attitudes. A member of management was sent THE email about their role in the last round of cuts.
They sent a message to their teams WHATSAPP thanking them and breaking the news they were being "released".
The next day they were in a senior leader chastised them for breaking confidentiality while the release review process was still ongoing.

Management doesn’t know last time even the L5s had no idea

Those at the top L8's and above will not allow lower level management to discuss whats going on.
