Mid to end June would mean 16th June onwards. Is anything happening next week ?
This is a layoffs board
Please limit discussions to layoffs related topics and news. Otherwise this website will lose relevance. Otherwise it will be just another website where Intel is trolled.
I got a bad dream about getting laid off
Do other intel employees get similar dreams
If AI can replace Engineers
If AI can replace engineers who build the products and chips, what defense is to have Program Managers, Directors, Middle Management, FLM, Product Management and all the paperwork personnel? Also VPs and Directors. What do anyone of them do that AI... — read more
Spans and Levels shouldn't be the focus. Convince me I'm wrong.
First, structure the organization to maximize productivity. Efficiency will follow. Spans and levels would self correct. It is the RESULT of proper organization, not the primary objective. But instead, when the crisis hits there is no time to look... — read more
The real grifters are at the top!
There may be too many middle managers…but the real grifters are at the top! The amount of VPs who are worthless is astounding….. they are the ones who are responsible for the bloated middle management and kingdom building that has taken place over... — read more

Question for any Management
If you are a manager or supervisor, good or bad, long term, short term. Please answer this question honestly. Throughout the years and all the layoffs, why is there still dead weight, low performing individuals still around? No matter what group or... — read more
Someone explain how increasing the amount of reports will help
I have people say in this forum there will be around 10 to 20 people under a manager. How is this effective when it comes to accountability and rewarding the good performers? Would a manager really know what the team members are doing with so many... — read more

If it can’t double our money, we’re not building it, Intel Products chief says

Why does Intel even offer severance?
It’s not required by law, so this is a genuine question. Why would they pay people to leave if they don’t have to? What’s in it for them, because we all know they wouldn’t take on that kind of cost without a reason? And I highly doubt it’s just about... — read more
INTC isn’t dead money
To be clear it was the last four months. if it’s just going to bounce around $20 with practically no dividend you could just go buy a CD for a while and leap back in later. but as we all know after the layoffs LBT can and will do something drastic... — read more

Question?
Since it’s Wednesday, do they still serve posole at lunch time at the Ocotillo site? It was pretty good, not like moms cooking. That’s about the only thing I miss.

18A Delays: Missteps, Missed Lessons, or Mismanagement?
Is 18A delayed due to lack of resources, refusal to learn, or just overpromising for bonuses? It overpromised and underdelivered. Betting on ex-IBMers to build scalable, advanced tech was a gamble—GF let them go, Intel hired them, and it backfired... — read more
This could be very much intentional
Letting us wait this long to find out about layoffs feels deliberate. People are on edge, and some have had enough, they’re already leaving. The more who walk away, the less the company has to spend on severance. Something tells me they’ll milk that... — read more
Tax change behind some tech layoffs
Interesting article on a tax change that is causing a lot of the tech layoffs since 2022. Intel's layoffs are largely for not performing and having too many employees but this explains why a lot of companies that are doing well still laid off 10s of... — read more
You your manager and your managers manager.
Let the layoffs begin. I am looking forward to seeing how this is all going to work. It's about time.😆
Is it true that notifications will be completed by the end of June?
I’ve heard the rumor, but it’s hard to believe they could wrap it up that quickly. Still, I’d prefer that over a prolonged period of uncertainty.

The way to beat the corporation..
Save and invest 50% of your income when times are good. After 10 years you have f u money. Then in times like these you can just kick back and watch the circus.
I just wish this was over already
If I’m going to be laid off, then say it. At least then I won’t be stuck in this damned limbo, wondering every day. I feel like Schrodinger’s employee - both working and not working until Intel finally opens the layoffs envelope. You want to cut 20k... — read more
