Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

no more ROC?

Since apparently there will be no more ROC, what's happening with all the people? Seems like a ton of people to let go.

The 30,000 plus will haven't go and as business continues to decline more rounds will happen.

It is truly unfathomable to realize just how much bloat the co has... and how terribly inept it was for pat to keep hiring ramp going as revenue, market share and margins tanked. Now all the employees will suffer. Sorry.

ROC = Remote Operations Center. Folks sitting outside of the fab, running fab operations that was typically from inside the fab. Many areas still have in fab Ops command centers, but a lot have been moved outside.

It is too bad the ROC personnel will be let go but honestly they haven’t done much in a while since automation took over.
