I don't think there were layoffs last week

For those asking if there were layoffs last week, as far as our store is concerned, nothing happened. We also haven't heard anything about corporate layoffs, and trust me, when it comes to things like that, word travels fast. There might be some cuts... — read more

I'd have volunteered

I'd have happily volunteered if they had offered me an option before the company started laying people off. I know a lot of people who'd love to be paid to leave this mess so I know for a fact I wouldn't have been the only one to jump at this... — read more

Job market is still good

Start applying for jobs right now whether you were laid off or not. I know some of you feel like you might need a week or two to recover but I wouldn't wait. The job market is still good but it won't stay like that for long. Jump in before it's too... — read more

Any day now

With Ye pulling out on Gap, an ousted CEO, a stock price hovering at $9, employees that refuse to return to the office, they are left with a stale brand. Layoffs are imminent in the next month. Old Navy & Athleta rumored to be sold.

Whew!!!

At least Gap fired one of its toxic directors in Stores Systems for some repeated bullying of his own team. Not enough unfortunately to combat my ever shrinking faith in the CEO.

2022 Layoffs

Due to missed Q2 earnings - Gap Inc and all brands have been asked by the board to begin company-wide cost optimization including but not limited to headcount reduction, store closures, etc.

More talk about spinoffs is making me nervous

I always get nervous when there's talk about spinoffs, especially if it's my own area. I'm in Athleta and I'm worried that if activist investors are pushing for a spinoff, it will come with major cuts since they're all about maximizing cost savings... — read more
