Laid off on H1B

Is anyone on same boat? Can you please let me know how much time were you given or termination date ? 2 weeks? I heard Silicon Valley firms are giving options for late termination date by 2 months so that you have severance as part of payroll cycles?... — read more

It wasn't about being over 50

So for all those saying that if you are over 50, you are on the list. So not true. Myself and others are much over 50 and have been told that we're not affected. This layoff was much more about realignment than cutting dead weight or the older... — read more

This could and should have been handled much better

I remember in the "old days" when a manager would call you human2human and advise you that you were being laid off. I felt like less of a betrayal, to tell you in such a way that maintained your dignity. Dell could still do that, and have the manager... — read more

Sales is a dime a dozen...

I don't get the appeal of being in sales. Ok sure, the income is pretty limitless but it's not usually consistent and you have hardcore metrics and usually micromanaged like a mf. My best friend is in sales and we make the same amount of money... — read more

Lay offs Still happening

Don't think they are done they are just getting started. I was just impacted. Best to everyone.

Dell has a Manufacturing POV not IT

I have been in IT for 25 years, I was doing virtualization with midrange unix 8years before VMware was a thing, and worked for some very innovative companies, and some that could not change mindset and let their people lead. My thought on Dell and... — read more

Dell after layoff is ranked at 13

In 2022, Dell Technologies was ranked 13th in the Top 300 Organizations based on United States patents granted, up from 16th in 2021. We also ranked 5th among U.S. headquartered companies, with a +19% increase in patents granted (2445) relative to... — read more

Telco / 5G Business Impact

Any info on Telco/5G BU's impact would be appreciated. Nothing from our management yet, and it's frustrating.

It's simple

If you were recently hired and laid off, no need to be confused as to why. Chances are you are in your 20s, maybe early 30s. You were laid off because they needed sacrificial lambs to ensure nobody can sue them for age discrimination. Layoffs are... — read more

Copying design documents to personal email

Just got laid off. Dell warns anyone laid off not to copy design documents through personal email. Can they enforce it? Do they install key loggers on Dell’s PCs?

More layoffs today

I know we're nowhere near done with layoffs. We'll probably have cuts throughout the entire week. My question is, if our team has already been affected yesterday, are the rest of us safe? My thinking is that chances are small they would spread... — read more

Dell saving money again?

Most companies will contract large layoffs out and have an army of HR consultants. It will be big movemnets and cuts in a few strokes Dell recently laid off large section of HR. I am thinking this laidoff feels weird because they are processing it... — read more

Something seems off about this round.

I didn't even see an email from Michael Dell. You'd think the CEO would like to address it, right? Also, In Clarke's email, the headcount nor the percentage wasn't revealed though In the 8-K form (Current Reports form) that Dell filed with the SEC... — read more

Do we think kore cuts are coming?

any word on Dell Blue and Brand?

DB has been high turnover, low morale for at least 2 years, but the directors are good at proving value to execs. Curious if this will hasten more of an external-agency model for content. It wouldn't save a dime but the headcount reduction would look... — read more

Severance -- 18 months of Insurance?

In another thread I saw someone mention about insurance. Is it true that you get 18 months of Health Insurance if you get laid off? Or is it based on seniority? ( This is only USA based question. )
