layoffs started this week, not sure how many people were affected, but I was one of them. I saw someone on here this site had mentioned after the last round (a month ago) that there were cuts coming in September but like ya’ll I thought that would look bad to investors… turns out MD didn’t call to ask my opinion 😂

We are absolutely not done with layoffs. Stocks are up because the street liked the layoffs. Less headcount = lower OPEX.

I was told by someone senior that the next round will begin to formulate in December and target a Feb execution of WFR.

No rumors that I know of but I'm just a lowly peon in the machine so take that for what its worth. My guess is that there will always be ongoing cuts but in small volumes to stay under the radar. The board wants to keep share prices up and ride the overvalued market price with the least amount of negative market sentiment.

Every company sees risks. The problem with Dell is that the EMC guys will pin the blame on the person whom they dont like and dont want in the team & who is most unrelated to the root cause.
The manager who is also EMC will support that because he got promoted based on BS lies he claimed about his own capabilities. Now those capabilities need to be fulfilled by his other EMC veteran employee whom he doesnt want to antagonize.
And thus the circle of corruption and the sacrifice of the innocent non-emc employee carries on. It is the musical chair game until the only people left are EMC veterans. Then the piranha fight will begin.

Welcome to Dell's wfr. Everything is by the book and law.

No. It will be normal attrition from this point.
Having a banner quarter and stock price skyrocketing. It would not be a vote of confidence to investors to follow with a layoff

Feb will be the next assessment.

The new norm for me is to save extra money, keep the resume current and try to add any new skills that would stand out on my resume. I have job alerts in indeed & monster and have accounts at HP and Lenovo for other jobs. I still enjoy working at Dell and have great friends, but I’m always preparing for a better offer, or if I get cut.

Dell beat marker expectations..yearly declines in revenue does not mean it was a good q2. Technical AE note above is correct.

At least some of the cuts slated for Sep were moved to Nov. I don’t know how many or why.

Next round of layoffs is coming in Feb. It will be more sales/services/DFS.

A new role will be opening called "Technical AE" so if you're an AE start learning the data center/cloud/AI to be safe.
