Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

SAM positions at dell

Does anyone have information about the future of Select Account Manager positions at dell. Have there been layoffs in this position. Is there a future for employees in these positions. With all the outsourcing going on at dell do they still need SAM's. How can a SAM manage people who don't even work at dell.

We will keep SAMs, not only are they one of the best resources we have but they are fully customer funded.

Such a critically important position both to sales and the customer. I hope management recognizes this. As an SE I rely heavily on the SAM resource, customers love them. I can't remember how many times the AE would ask what is the temperature of the customer. SAMs are needed and are somewhat partially paid for by the customer

Best advice I can give you is to start looking at other options, have a plan. Regardless if the SAM role is around, Dell is not a place you want to be now or in the future. The culture has reached a level of toxicity never seen before. Company moral is at an all time low, product support is so bad. They just started eliminiating the PG group this week, there is no inovation, just dead lifeless bodies trying to get through the day.
