Which BUs are high risk right now? I have heard it's really bad news for MSBU and SABU? If it's 900 people cut for entire company how much would approx be cut from engineering?

In the past we've had some great hires from new grads who did not have the chance to go through their first review cycle. We also got some excellent people who were one way or another demotivated by the environment and we made them motivated again.

A friend who runs training for Dell has been told ramp up his VMware trainings to all their reps.

Any word on what the severance package may look like? I know some companies like Cisco used to give 6 months plus benefits and others that give you a couple weeks.

I see a lot of managers and director staying in late and talking behind closed doors. Does that mean these managers have a list of people from their teams that will be impacted? Does anyone know which teams / BUs are at high risk?

There seems to be a lot of talk about layoffs coming out next week. Does anyone know any details? Anyone have any contacts? Some folks on here suggested that the Burlington Office may close. Does anyone have any data to back that up?

Who is deciding who is getting laid off and how? What are they basing their decisions on? Does HR have 100% control over this or are they considering input from managers and or senior folks?

There was a small reduction yesterday. I know of at least 2 people told they need to look for another job internally or be let go.

What is the likelihood of VMware layoffs in Palo Alto in 2016? Please let me know if you have any information.
