If you have notice we have layoffs every year since Pat took over. Every town hall the emphasis is on clear communication blah blah .. and we come to know this in press. Good job guys (management).I think we are directionless nobody knows whats happening unless something changes drastically. Vmware will only go down.

Gelsinger has always been a puppet. He's not there to be a leader, he's there to dress up the company for acquisition. Dell will dispense with him when this is all over. He'll get some sideline gig doing what he does best - pretend to be in charge while everything dissolves around him.
This. Some get publicized, some don't. I believe that the reason for publicizing is to appease the market.
