As outrageous as it sound, managers in Intel do not know technical. SLM discourages their FLM to focus on managing and not being technical lead. While Intel technology is complicated and intricate, without continuous following the technical side of... — read more

Should I take the VSP that was offered to me? Even though I know Intel is targetting white males over 50, they ISP'd my buddy Sheldon (big bang theory) in the middle of making another stupid commerical for TV. I figure sooner or later I will me... — read more

It's on WD's board - only slightly related to us but a good read anyway: @HgUhc6g
Did anyone receive a verbal relocation offer and a VSP? If so what site? Manager encourage VSP or to continue as employee?
Having not seen an official relocation package am skeptical of any verbal offers.

Will I end up as the oldest person at Intel :)
63 years old with 9+ years at Intel. Did 5 years as a contractor before that. Consequently everyone assumes I was eligible for the enhanced retirement but I wasn't. Nor was I offered a VSP. Virtually everyone I know over 60 is taking the retirement... — read more

Whether you have ISP or VSP, how many months can you live your savings? I assume a lot of people ah e mortgages paid since due to the demographic being offered by vsp.
Israel Layoffs
We have heard about Arizona, and Ireland Fab Job cuts, not much about Israeli fab layoffs. What is happening over there?
From the horse's mouth: BK just published article that companies need to share their diversity data publicly....so will he do it?
Interesting article BK published in Huff Post today, he says he will share data publicly. Perhaps Intel ees affected by the past two layoffs should petition to see the race/ethnicity data for the turnover from 2015 & 2016. Let's see if he's "doing... — read more
Did Murthy just get absolutely humiliated today?

Are there ANY decent managers left in Intel?
This blog has many posts reprentng all Intel groups/divisions. It appears the one common issue is poor leadership by the management because these people no longer have the capacity to manage (by definition). They are simply out to protect their own... — read more
PC refresh program
Did anyone find out about the PC refresh program being pulled in or not? I'm basing my VSP decision on whether I can get new laptop or not if I stay.

I still have the power point presentation from the PTD Culture class we had many years ago. The leader(s) at the time (back when we had actual leaders instead of managers) knew we were losing something unique and crucial to Intel's success. They... — read more

If yes, where are they?
I know on the surface that the employees dealing with the VSP are dealing with the great future uncertainty based on whatever decision is made.

Cut the managerial fat at AZFSM. Intel needs to follow through on their own brilliant plan.
