@bpu.. what quality?? we loose that some time ago when we started hiring based on ROI and not based on skills . basically we keep copying the codes from the last revisions praying that it will work at least 80% and keep hammering it and debugging until it is fixed and ready for production.

once done, the cycle begins again with the same model "copying and hammering" but quality is not a concern anymore since high managent don't care and the pool of coders just keep the issues at low levels so there is not much noise about it...

The word is that next round of "project cancellations" will affect at least 71 heads in FM for VPG alone. 3 full groups will be "relocated" to overseas operations and the balance will be picked up from multiple groups..

People affect will be informed between this week and next Wednesday... you have been warned..

To India. Why does that sound like a disaster in quality.

definitely VPG will be doing some big cleanup soon and moving at least 3-4 functions to Bangalore.. They have been re-organizing but keeping details very loose as far as the lower structures goes. All the PE's and SLM's & above already secured their spots but everyone below are just disposable material...

Last round casualty @FM was around 269 ee's. Intel issued the WARN. Question is will they issue any WARN for the next round?

Yesterday VPG was doing VR demos on the FM7 innovation center, what a joke... So VR, drones, IOT, and other BS technologies that will not reach the masses to keep the business going..

ah but wait, we will ISP another good chunk of people specially if they are 20+ year veterans on the companmy US citizens and bring more H1B's to fill the holes and make sure the BS technologies keep advancing at minor cost so it does not look that bad at the end..

So YES, a lot of project cancellations coming to Folsom in the next few weeks so buckle up and be ready...

EIG gets a 10% cut across all FM teams, VSP will convert to ISP and USB work moves more to PG as does PCH. And DA moves to central team with a 20% cut

Is the VPG cut speculation or is this from a reliable source.

@irz - I heard otherwise, even backend/SD will get the cut, since some projects are moving to SIP. Arch/DA might get heavy cuts.

VPG is going to license Imagination power VR graphics and dump existing junk Gen graphics. Heavy cut from Architecture/RTL team. Only retaining backend staff.
