Topics regarding layoffs at Follett

How's it going-on paper?

Now that it has been a few months since the May 1 layoff, how is it going with sales, campus relations, ect? I know it is horrible for managers, or should I say "leaders" for those stores that no longer have a manager. Are Marketing managers, that... — read more

Honest question…

I try and try but can’t wrap my head around how anyone at “One Team” thinks you can prep for fall and handle all of the shipments coming in, as well as adoption questions/setting/receiving AND customers by reducing hours even more. YES, I’m actively... — read more

Ivory tower is screwed

I hope the powers that be are reading these comments. You guys sit in your offices and have no clue as to how these stores work. Even the most experienced and long term employees want to quit during Fall Rush, it's brutal. This Fall Rush will be... — read more

Vacation policy change

Anyone notice the sudden change to the vacation policy? Last year it changed with no communication and made it appear everyone was earning more per year and at earlier anniversary dates. Suddenly the policy is back to what it was in 2021. And says... — read more

Bonuses ??

Crazy question I know , but in all this “restructuring “ , did they decide not to pay out bonuses for 2022 ? Typically they are paid out at the end of June and granted my bonus is usually only a couple of hundred bucks , but still !!!!

Chicago followup

Has anyone noticed the people that went to Chicago are posting on social media all positive comments, as if they were told to hype it up? And now hiring visual merchandising specialist, have seen many post about that.

Positives?

I'm genuinely curious if there's anyone with any positives to say about the role changes? I'm mainly talking to people who iare/were in stores

Not worth it

Bosses who don't know when enough is enough and who always demand more... I'm more than tired of them. Are they trying to squeeze us or encourage to leave on our own? I've realized that the job here is not worth all the stress.

Campus Relations Down the Drain

How can you build campus relations and find new sales opportunities if you have to be running the register while receiving and worrying about restocking!!! lets stop investing in so much merchandise and invest in people to catch up with everything in... — read more

Chicago meeting notes

I wonder how much of the Chicago meeting of market leaders will be leaked to the rest of us. Any thoughts out there severed and or demoted heroes

So now I’m here alone..

So I had a team member nice enough to stay and help teach me, a new Campus store lead, andddddd they just cut hours… so she can’t come in at ALL next month…. I’m here solo and have ZERO clue what to do because I have close to no training and still... — read more

Laying people off for the wrong reasons

They clearly laid off staff to help cover the expense of writing out dead inventory. As stupid as that is it's still really dead inventory that desperately needed to be liquidated. They're trying to set a cleaner financial state for the new fiscal... — read more

A lot of fat in this company

The fact that the company cut good employees instead of fat is totally disheartening, isn't it? More than ever I feel like I'm working hard so that others can get big paychecks.

Guaranteed Sales...

WTAF? Stores do all the work & the RM gets $2k? Someone tell me I read this right/wrong🤔

Simply unrealistic

I really need a job and that's why I'm still here, but I hope I can get another offer soon. Honestly, how much extra work and effort do you have to put in to get everything done that's required of you? I can't believe how unrealistic their demands... — read more

Rentals

So anyone know how the stores are doing? Wonder how many people got charged for rentals that were not properly checked in.

Like a frog in a pot

I am so glad I was laid off. I was like the frog in a pot, the heat slowly being turned up, not realizing what was happening. Actually I did see the constant decline I just didn't do anything about it, like getting myself out of it. My outgoing... — read more

Please do tell how rush goes

All the newbies, the lack of staff, the clueless, overworked course materials people, the over extended market managers. I’d like to hear how this goes.

Belks/Macys

How many more internal candidates are going to be passed on for promotions? Every new RM or higher has a connection to Belks or Macys. It’s very suspicious in such a trying time.

June is almost here

Wondering how many other stores got 40 or less hours a week payroll for June with orientations coming up which they expect stores to participate in with clothing coming in for Fall, maybe, transfers in and out, running a register, and soda. Don't... — read more

So little is being done

Once they cut employee pay, a lot of people just stopped doing a lot of work. I am shocked by how little is being done in the stores now. Literally, former managers and asst. managers just talking and playing on their phones. Boxes in the back... — read more

I got a job!

Good-bye Follett! I got a job with a great company with a huge pay increase! I knew pay was low at Follett but I didn’t realize how low until I started looking. Every job I applied to was offering more. And now I am going to a growing, positive... — read more

Leave !

If I don’t like a movie, I get up and leave. If I don’t like dinner, I don’t eat it. I left this company years ago and I came on here today to see what has changed. As bad as it was, it got worse. If you are tired of cr-ppy wages and even cr-ppier... — read more

Shocked by the last 2 weeks

In the 10 stores that i'm aware of, at least a dozen people have quit in the last two weeks. They're moving people all over the place trying to plug holes during graduations and it's been a nightmare. Most of them are talking about pay cuts ranging... — read more

You don’t know what you lost

So many experienced people. Have fun hiring kids for the stores. Really, though. It could be said that this won’t work well, and it won’t be our problem.

Final paycheck delays?

I think it's pretty messed up that we have to wait for our severance payout until May 26 but now they are delaying sending DD files to ADP. 😡

A/R transition

The A/R transition was scheduled to change this month however it is not ready till possibly October. They are still wanting stores to conduct regular A/R duties till thr scheduled date. Of course it's not ready like they thought.

Fall Rush 23

Please post the issues we’re all going to run into in Fall so I can prepare myself now. Thank you and may the Lord have mercy on our soul.

Restructure is already failing

This is already a disaster. People hired for at home positions having to cover stores. Good luck on getting your tasks done. Cut pay and hire these people with the money “saved” and the new hires are doing 100% of the store managers jobs, but at a... — read more

Is anybody happy with their job?

Sounds like everybody is utterly miserable at Follett these days. I used to work there, and I’m shocked to see how much everybody hates it. It used to be a great place to work about 15 years ago. A hit of nostalgia had me looking for more info, but... — read more
