Just leave

To anyone still at TR, especially those posting to and checking this forum regularly, please update your resume and start networking. The culture is toxic, the leaders don’t value you, and there is A LOT more money and job satisfaction elsewhere. We... — read more

TR needs to deal with the real problems

Also it needs to deal with these problems in the right way, because now instead of really analyzing issues and trying to fix them, our leadership allows these problems to become bigger while they deal with some minor matters. Just my 2 cents.

New: 2 days in office per week

For BUs that haven’t been going in twice a week - how does this change impact you? By June 1 all locations will have ICs come twice a week, and managers three times a week.

Anyone making bets on

whether AG comes back? TBH not witnessed how shes contribute other firing everyone. Also responding with a question when you ask her a valid question. I mean why are you asking me? and go find out and come back and tell me is not coaching.

Wtf is the api sales goal?

I’ve seen the OKR around APi sales. Who is even building APIs? What is the purpose of having this?

Work is slow and I'm worried

The only thing more stressful than being overwhelmed is when your work becomes so slow that you literally have nothing to do. I don't want to lose my job, but I'm very worried. What do the rest of you do in a situation like this?

Accessibility training

Got an email from Charlie today saying TR values accessibility and everyone in product has to do accessibility training so we build accessibility into our products. Meanwhile, they took away our budget for accessibility fixes. Cool.

Things are Falling apart

I thought things were bad 10 years ago but its obvious things are failing miserably now. Institutional knowledge is out the door and reaking havoc on those who are left to support it. Problems range from Customer unable to access products to random... — read more

Lack of work

The design org work has slowed down due to lack of organization between design and product partners. Additional work we could help with is held up because other teams don’t have the time or care enough to meet to discuss details. Anyone else notice... — read more

No strategy to achieve targets

There is no vision at the company at all. If you are apart of another company you will clearly see just how much it’s missing here. *If you ask your managers and their managers what their vision and strategy to achieve their targets are, they... — read more

Design Operations

thanks for the depressing pep talk today. your encouragement and intimidation tactics only ensure I'm making the right decision to leave. also no one cares. design tea is a time suck and operations is a pain in the a-s.

Elite spinoff

Bye bye Elite. Good luck to anyone working there. Any guesses what businesses TR will sell next?

Thomson saved Reuters

You can't be all high and mighty when the truth is that Thomson saved your company. If there wasn't for us, there wouldn't have been Reuters. I thought this was common knowledge and we have moved on from it, but some posts I read here have... — read more

Design Leadership

where are you? thats right, you fired everyone then took LOA. Now the head of design is going on vacation. and another talent is leaving. i wanted to believe in the dream, but its turned into a nightmare.

15 years later

Reuters old-timers, can you think of one thing that improved since Thomson Corporation acquired Reuters Group? I can think of dozens and dozens of things that have worsened, starting with the company culture, but no matter how hard I try, I can't... — read more

Can someone explain TR's rotation program?

I was recently informed that I am being moved to another team as a part of TR's rotation program. I haven't been here long enough to know whether this is good or bad. My team has been having budget issues for a while and we've steadily cut down on... — read more

These products are awful

Just left TR after six years. Had a subscription to Checkpoint where I booked all of my training...for the last 10 years or so. Huge swath of it is gone. After talking to support (who seemed to be trying really hard!) for 45 minutes and having her... — read more

Hit ‘em where it hurts

One metric we have influence in is the NPS. A concerted effort to tell the truth on these surveys might actually have an impact after a few of them.

E-card - Employee appreciation day - really?!

What was that all about? Do leaders really think an e-card is going to make a difference? So detached from reality. What a sad place - leaders below execs do not seem to speak up. They just want to keep their jobs and title.

What has to break?

What has to break before TR management realizes they went too far with their Change Management (layoffs) project? And when it does break, will management bear any consequences?

BP jumped ship

”After 38 years, BP has decided to leave TR effective April 3.” 👀

Now you want to know???

we now have to do a dog and pony about what our products do. how long have you been here?? and never mind the hours of work we put in for executive design reviews and the new cover sheet bs. why dont you try understanding what we do rather than... — read more

Product Town Hall (2/22)

Anyone else on the Product Town hall this morning? Sounded to me like there aren't a lot of assurances that there won't be further layoffs within the dept.
