OxyChem sell off

Has anyone heard any information about the option to sell off the Chemicals division? Probably not the best longer term play but it would help right the ship by selling additional assets and paying down the debt. Heard some rumblings pre-Anadarko... — read more

Lack of Dividend News

New information regarding the Anadarko purchase indicates that the combined company will not have available operating income to pay the current dividend until 2022. To maintain the dividend, Oxy will have to borrow the money and/or sell assets. That... — read more

OXY Work hours flexibility

With the new geographic dispersement of the workforce, I’m curious at how flexible OXY will be with work hours and location. How early can people come in? Is 6-4 acceptable work hours? Is there any appetite for working remotely a few days a... — read more

Retired in 2016

I'm so glad I elected to be placed in the layoff of 2016. They offered to keep me, but I was ready to go. If you are able to financially make it happen please do so, it was the best thing I ever did! I'm now in the process of building my dream home... — read more

Integration Email

Under the “Organization Design and Talent” section - does it mean that all Oxy employees will have to reapply for their own position once the “new organizational structure” is finalized?

Oxy HR Policy Questions

I just wish that this end one way or another

Lay us all off or announce who gets to stay at the company. Don;t know about you but this state of limbo where we’re awaiting to get cut every day we arrive to work is pure torture. People say that we’re lucky to have a job and a paycheck, but i'm... — read more

According to the newsletter, VSPs will be offered to Oxy in July. APC will not know the details until after closing. The VSP does not have to match APC COC package. Will packages be different depending on the company you work for currently?

Timing

Will the voluntary retirements happen before or after closing? For Oxy and Anadarko?

Some people here will not be around for 2020

If crude oil price averages well below $60 for the rest of the year, then more cost cutting will obviously be necessary. Investors hate reducing the dividend, so look for more asset sales, project budget reductions/ cancellations and higher layoff... — read more

Still Going Down

Oil is down 2.8% at $51.78 as I write this. Looks like $80 oil won't happen this year. The know-it-all experts will be wrong again. How do you like those low gasoline prices in Houston? How do you like losing your job?

Not moving to Century Park?

Just read the email...the move to the Energy Corridor is postponed indefinitely. What the heck is going on? Rumors are flying that we will be moving to the Woodlands, and some are saying we may stay at Greenway. What a cluster!

The Woodlands

So with the email today, is it a fair assumption that we will be moving to The Woodlands when the GWP lease expires? Business wise, I don’t see why we would spend $400 mil renovating the old COP building when Anadarko already owns 2 nice towers... — read more

Adios Oxy

And don’t forget adios to VH and the other oxymorons.

Oil Going Down

WTI closed today at $53.36. If it does not recover back to around $60 in a month, then expect the potential lay off pool to get larger.
