I'm so glad I elected to be placed in the layoff of 2016. They offered to keep me, but I was ready to go. If you are able to financially make it happen please do so, it was the best thing I ever did! I'm now in the process of building my dream home in Birmingham, Al. where both our from. For the young people who reads this, please always save as much money as possible. My husband and I have been together for 42 years he was the one who always wanted to save and I didn't understand why. But now I do as we were both able to retire at 55. Good luck to everyone. Op, so true. Looking back, i definitely wished i had saved more. You just never know what the future holds.
Retirement investments - We selected Asset Builders out of Plano Texas. Talked to all of the major investment companies and their fees were way to high (this company fees are very low). The 1st year made over $100,000. increase on 1 million and last month made over $26,000. in one month - Yes the stock market is at a all time high - but their fee was only $300. last month -everyone else wanted $1,000. or better each month. Nice to be able to retire at age 55. Hopefully your funds will last your entire rest of your life. Even though I saved I am 60 and still not ready. Even though I saved. Even though I worked my butt off. You got a severance package. I did not. You worked at humana During its GOOD YEARS> I came in in 2012 and saw all the changes and experienced the ruthlessness. As did you in the end. This company is talking the talk but not walking the walk. If you have some agreement for your continued retirement years you may want to look into that because they are selling out. ALong with that goes the agreement.
