Macy’s Open on Thanksgiving

Well, we just Had our ’Stores Organization Holiday 2020 Meeting’. There was no mention of whether or not we’ll be open. If we were going to be closed on Thanksgiving, that was the last possible moment to announce it. The ironic thing is the entire... — read more

We won't make it past 2021

The way things have been going, we'll be lucky if we survive the next year without liquidation. With the leadership we have, we are on borrowed time and anything beyond that is unrealistic to expect. Isn't it sad how low this once great retail... — read more

Prediction

My 2021 prediction is JG will exit the big ole M around feb/March . Polaris is just a fancy word slapped to the same ole kicking the can down the street. . He will try to save face when vendors and employees find out he defrauded everyone.

You should be looking for a new job right now

Many have said it but let me reiterate: it's always so much easier to find a job when you already have one. And considering the direction Macy's been heading, we won't be in the "employed" category for much longer. So if you are not already looking... — read more

Upcoming Fraud Allegations

I have an old contact from corporate, and supposedly they might have a fraud allegation coming down the pike. It has to do with defrauding employees from wages and benefits. Also has to do with defrauding vendors. If it’s true and it gets out, that’s... — read more

Your safety or your job

Those of us in one-income families with kids and bills to pay are being forced to chose between our safety and our jobs. Macy's does things in half measures, cuts corners just to save a dime. And who pays for it? We do. We are the ones who'll get... — read more

After reading today that the delayed 401k company match has been moved from November to September, I am curious if the company will still match our 2019 contributions if we withdrew funds during furlough? Any in-site here is helpful!

Are layoffs done for now?

I really hope they are, since we're constantly understaffed as it is. I'm not sure they have anybody else left to cut other than just closing us.

Sales

Just wondering if anyone out there knows how sales have been with the government stimulus ending. Sounds like people are spending less on groceries. Are they actually spending at Macys?

What are your predictions for the holiday season?

What do you think sales are going to look like? I think they’re banking on a great holiday season to pay off some debt from what they lost so far this year. I don’t think it’s going to happen.
