Too far gone and we're all to blame!

I remember that working remotely allowed many of us to watch Netflix instead of doing work. Some even bragged about how little work was being done in a week. After covid, our competition returned to the office and some worked long hours. We... — read more

Here comes all the a-s kissing linkedin posts

Why does every layoff post on LinkedIn sound like.. I am devastated to be impacted… but eternally grateful for this opportunity to realign my professional synergy? Bro, we got laid off, not inducted into the Hall of Transformational Growth. It’s okay... — read more

Blue Badge Union for technicians?

How bad will it have to get for the remaining blue badge techs to unionize? All I know is I'd probably make more $ at UPS, who's employees got guaranteed raise percentages for 5 years by striking last summer. Seems like a lot of benefits of working... — read more

One simple trick to avoid being laid off

I'm not the smartest or most hard working person on my team. I don't have a fancy degree from an Ivy. I don't always go into office 2x a week despite being hybrid. I'm not always on time for meetings, and when I am, I don't always have something to... — read more

This is getting bad

I left Intel at the end of 2024. Last week I talked to about 8 friends at Intel. These friends are high flying grade 11-14's. I was really taken back at how beaten down they were, and they have seemed to give up. They seem to believe that Intelis way... — read more

Trust the Trolls

When someone says “troll” what they mean is “I don’t want people to believe you but I don’t have a rational counterargument so you’re a liar”. But when you look at what “the trolls” are saying it all boils down to “Intel didn’t suddenly get competent... — read more

How's everybody's Monday going?

I'm still getting used to a good part of my team being gone. Still have no idea what's going to happen to the rest of us. I'm almost sorry I wasn't affected.

COBRA vs spouse's insurance

Hello, got impacted by the layoffs last week. I am deliberating between COBRA and switching to my husband's insurance. If anyone has any insights/ suggestions, that would be very helpful

Layoffs are NOT performance based.

Let's be realistic, as most layoffs are never performance-based. Most managers have non-arm's-length people on their team or within org.  These people will always be saved first. One's comfort employees, family, friends, and people of similar... — read more

Layoffs are rarely objective

Our team got decimated (~40% HC reduction). When I asked my manager how he made the decisions, he admitted that he kept people with kids/family because he didn't have the heart to cut them. A lot of the younger guys, who were absolute rockstars at... — read more

"at least lbt is saving the company"

I sometimes feel like lbt is preparing to split the foundry, then keep downsizing products until they become buyable by some other company. Am I going crazy?

Didn't expect getting laid off...

Worked my a-s off on 18A. PTL yields are above 70%. All those weekends and long nights making it happen, but in the end got laid off. Capitalism su-ks.

RTO Tracking in Sepetember

There is evidently some type of dashboard your manager has access to or is going to have access to shortly. It is going to show a log of when you badge in and determine how long you are on campus based on how long you are connected to the wifi. If... — read more
