Doesn’t seem like the leadership is doing a very good job or even cares about their members. Hearing a local chairman, got taken out by management at the same location of the previous local chairman was taken out at. Seems like targeting… Not to mention, it was next to nothing as far as involvement with the last contract between members and union officials.
Aren’t they supposed to represent the members or is being in bed with management too comfy?

XOM Representation
Please stop sending unprepared or poorly matched representatives as the face of the team or organization to seminars and conferences (external events). It was embarrassing to watch our representative at the AIChE recruiting event struggle to communicate and barely explain the material. We had to step in repeatedly to help her.
The same issue happens when people who simply want the spotlight are allowed to present technical work they cannot clearly articulate. Wanting visibility does not mean they can represent the science of the work they didn't contribute to.
Info needed about Union representation
Several reps in my area have inquired about seeking union representation. If anyone has direct contact info please leave it here. Reps inquiring are mainly from Northeast stores , Eastern and Western Massachusetts stores including Central and Northern Connecticut and Rhode Island.
Representation
Is it my observation or is this site heavily populated by Sales people?
TIME TO UNIONIZE
can any of the people who are in a union at a refinery tell their union rep that Houston engineers want to unionize and have the union get something started ASAP!!!!
VP promotion outcomes vary across race and gender (2017–2024)
From 2017 to 2024, a directional comparison of VP promotion outcomes relative to the Director+ feeder available population suggests non-white males were roughly 4× more likely to reach VP than white males. Non-white females show a similar pattern at roughly 4×, while white females were approximately 2.4× more likely than white males.
This pattern reflects a higher share of VP level promotions relative to representation within the Director+ population, which serves as the primary pool of VP candidates.
These differences reflect variation between promotion outcomes and underlying representation within the leadership pipeline.
Estimates and analysis are derived from publicly available information.
Beware of the right to represent
For your job seeker out there, beware of the Indian recruiters who immediately wants you to sign a right to represent. Once you sign this right to represent, your résumé goes in the trash and they promote their Indian friends and family. Just don’t sign it and tell them thank you very much. It is a deceptive practice on their part. I have been the victim of this so I speak from experience.
