Voluntary Program is a Sham

4 months is not much of an incentive. Retirement eligible employees who believe they are safe will stay and those who believe they are vulnerable will wait to see if they get selected for the involuntary phase that has a much larger payout. Predict... — read more

Upstream headcount - current

Does anyone know the current headcount for “upstream” as DW is using the term? I’m currently in D/S (after U/S from years ago) but would like to know % being removed from U/S (750 out of X)?

Trust is Lost

Once you lose your employees’ trust that leadership will act in accordance with the stated company values, it’s gone. First the way COVID was handled, then the PIPs of high performing people who challenged management, then the lack of transparency... — read more

The Full Picture in the U.S.

The 1900 cuts announced today added to the 1600 cuts recently completed (NSI group) is a total of 3500. This is a 19% reduction in the U.S. workforce (excluding site level Operations employees). They completed almost half of the cuts without paying... — read more

HR Gets Whacked!

35% of HR employees will be gone. Add to that the 8-10% NSI group recently departed and it’s a 43-45% reduction! Another 8-10% in next year’s PIP process will take it well over 50%! Ouch!!!

Involuntary program and PIP

It’s a little confusing. It says “ the Following groups of employees will not be considered eligible for this program: employees currently on an active Performance Improvement Plan” So if we passed the PIP, are we still considered under the PIP... — read more

Do the numbers add up?

14000 target by 2022 1900 in US 1600 in Europe 150 in Australia We're still roughly 10k short. I doubt we already released 10k in contractors & NSI yet. Also if XOM is growing in GBCs, HC would have to decline at other sites to... — read more

Severance Pay Worse Than PIL

So in many cases, those who were PIP’d and PIL’d got a more significant severance than those who are going to be laid off. Thanks LT. We truly feel appreciated!

Exxon's Downward Spiral

Let me get this straight

We know they're going to lay off 1,900 people but we also know they'll only notify only a part of them today? And the rest will learn their fate between now and December 15? So the nightmare will continue for another month and a half, at least? Are... — read more

Let's get real

The layoff announcement today of 1900 gone by end of year is only thing we can take at face value. DW has lost all credibility for his deception back in May with the veiled layoffs. Do not believe the numbers through the next 2 years is set. If I... — read more

Post your company's news

Let's compile what each company gets told during these 9am meetings. Are we all getting the same message, or are the numbers/messgaes different?

Today's the day

I think there's a consensus that today's the day? I'll be deeply disappointed if it turns out not to be true. Not because I'm particularly eager to be laid off, I don't think anybody is hoping for that in this economy. I'm just more than ready for... — read more
