Breakdown of US Layoffs by Function/Location

Does anyone have a breakdown of the 1900 layoffs by function or by location (as was shown for those in Europe)? All I’ve heard is possibly 15 in EMRE LT and 10 in EMRE FPO. Unfortunately, I haven’t heard back from any of my former colleagues. — read more

Companies tend to succeed or fail from the top down.

No matter how good the people under are, they are restricted by the people above them. Good workers are hampered by poor management. Good management is handcuffed by poor executives. Good ideas are left to die by poor leadership. When the focus... — read more

Involuntary list published yesterday - Communicators should be notifying everyone today and tomorrow. The org chart will be published later, as that work is still being developed.

This will be done tomorrow?

People seem to be certain everybody company-wide will be notified by tomorrow. Where is that coming from? Did I miss an announcement or something?

I want to start by saying thank you for the opportunity to work for this company the past few years. I count them as valuable years that I do not regret spending with you. I leave the company today with my head held high knowing that I did the job I... — read more

Got told first thing this morning

No scheduled 1:1, supervisor hit me up on iM and asked if I had a minute. Gave me the news, told me some next steps, took my personal email address for the formal docs. On leave immediately and off payroll Feb. 1. That easy, nothing personal against... — read more

It is getting harder and harder to maintain my motivation as a USA based IT employee. The focus is purely on moving more and more work to GBCs. I was hoping to stay for a career, but now I'm thinking it is time to continue focusing on upskilling and... — read more

Bring a new CEO from outside!

Instead of inbreeding, bring a new CEO from outside with different perspectives and fresh ideas. Fire the existing management and install a fresh one. That is the only solution!

Will this be done by departments?

Or will they spread it out? Several coworkers received invitations for a private meeting with our manager and they're resigned to the fact that that's it for them. What I'd like to know is, if our department has already been hit, does it mean we are... — read more

How to react when manager communicates lay-off?

This has been cooking so long that it has lost shock value. My zoom meeting is on Thursday. If they tell me I am laid off, should I act like I am shocked? Or just show no emotion? I want to hold my head high and walk away with dignity. What type... — read more

Surplus of SLS+ staff in Baytown

How TF is it possible to be laying off individual contributors while they have an easy 10 SLS above heads!? DHs are litterally trying to find “something” for these people to do! Waste of money

HR being gutted, how does that work?

If you're in HR do you have a zoom meeting with yourself? Do you create the forms, print them out, and sign all boxes? Do you ask yourself if you have any questions? Do you email yourself letting you know that "the deed has been done?"
