There have been some pretty hilarious posts that have been posted over the past couple of days, but it seems the mods always remove them. Why? We need some humor in these uncertain times.

Belfast Northern Ireland IT jobs safe

Our .net and Java teams had a call earlier with our area leader and we have been told that Belfast IT jobs are safe and that any layoffs in similar teams will be in USA based teams. However, it is not looking good for the Strabane call centre site... — read more

FYI ALLSTATE

By dragging out this layoff situation, you're loosing talented people. This is a correct statement, with no lies.

Exercise Helps the Mind and Body

Nothing will change the current events. But excersize will make you feel better. No matter what happens, this is not permanent. You/me have a choice to live well or drown in sorrow. We/me need to be positive and support each other. Don't lose sight... — read more

Assessment

About the assessment, How is the company going to determine that the assessment is being taken by the Named employee? How can they determine that an employee is not going to have someone else take the assessment or if there are more than one family... — read more

Tom Wilson layoff announcement

Anyone else wonder if TW slipped up when he announced the layoffs on that town hall? Even from the most selfish point of view, this has cost the company lost productivity, bad pr, and I’m sure a ton of questions from all levels to the C-Suite. — read more

Pooooop.

I don't know. Why can't they just announce who is going and who is staying. Maybe I'll apply to Geico... I just don't understand their justification by saying they're doing layoffs then not announcing who is going? It's terrible.

What would you consider “Reasonable”

Obviously no one wants to be laid off, but the fact is that the company has decided they want less stay, and want to operate differently. What would everyone consider a “reasonable” or truly transparent way for them to have approached this?

Week without pay?

If Allstate asked you to do another week without pay to change their payroll structure, would you do it again?

What would you do?

If you were laid of by Allstate and you got a chance to re-apply a month or two or even a year later either for your old job or something else, would you do it? Would you willingly return to this place? For me personally, the only way I would... — read more

Why is mediocrity a good thing here?

Can somebody please tell me why is mediocrity celebrated at Allstate? Why is it that the best people are forced to leave and those who should be put on a PIP are actually staying and being promoted? Why should any of us bother anymore to do anything... — read more

Why Do people assume layoffs are bad?

Let’s be honest, many of us are unhappy working for Allstate. Being out of work especially with a severance means a few months to step away from this stress and find a job you like better. Plus, with the virus, now is a decent time to be out of... — read more

Claims to CCC shifting

Seems to be the biggest "from-to" movements instead of lay offs going around in conversations in our shop. Turnover is very high in CCC front lines and with the slow move to direct from agencies they are beefing up those areas with... — read more

Allstate Severance Plan Verbiage Edited

I saved a copy of Allstate's Severance Summary Plan Description right around the time we were all funneled into 'signing' the arbitration agreement in late 2019. The plan description was last updated in January 2017. Today I went and reviewed the... — read more

Top heavy in management

Allstate has long been top heavy in managerial positions. Too many “checkers checking the checkers”, too. The need is for more people who actually make a difference in the “front lines” interacting with customers. Allstate moved away from the core... — read more

Just leave this place

It has become obvious that there is no future at Allstate. When management only knows to use layoffs to solve the company's ever-growing issues, it is obvious how inept and desperate they are. I know it's not an ideal job market right now, but I... — read more

I personally have found this site to be benefitial, but have also been frustrated with troll posts and ads. I was thinking about making a similar site ad free and more monitored to only allow relevant information in. Would anyone be interested in... — read more

7/21 was supposedly "D-Day" in a lot of areas.

Any word? The longer this goes the longer I lose faith in this company's ability to lead and lose faith in them having any sort of decency and respect for their employees and premium paying customers. Be transparent as you always like to preach!

Allstate Solidarity Walk Out Week

Unionize after the purge

When the final day of attrition occurs, the remaining employees would be wise to organize and establish a union to prevent or minimizing future activities like this lay-off. History is a great educator and motivator.

Eric Brandt- New Claims Officer

Former Esurance people. What do you guys think of Eric Brandt. From what I’ve heard he is someone that really does care about his employees and others.

This process should be “Painlessly Simple!”
