Wondered why the 09/09 date was picked awhile ago; heartless how it's a day before a significant analyst event at the Citi Technology Conference where Seagate is presenting.

Do you know what is the typical severance pay?

Living under this pressure day in and day out its inhumane. I cant concentrate and be productive if everyday I freak out that I might be on the blacklist and my family will go trough tough times. Why cant they just give us a 2 weeks to a month notice... — read more 

They've happened on Fridays before: 1/23/14, 5/8/15. Not that I know that it will happen on a Friday but Fridays don't appear to be exempt from RIF days.

Seems like with stock price down 25% since January that with deep budget cuts, STX is maybe in for bumpy ride?

Mark my words, reorg is being planned and cuts might happen as early as Q2

I hear that we'll be cutting people again in Feb/March 2014 timeframe. If you are with Seagate and have any info I'd appreciate if you can post it here. I work in corporate (finance).
