Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

I’m completely exhausted from trying to keep my head above water

I’ve been working my a-s off for months, convincing myself it might make a difference when they decide who to let go. Deep down I know it doesn’t, but it’s the only way I can ease my mind, telling myself I’ve done everything I could to keep this job. It’s so hard to find something else, and honestly, I’m terrified.

@xw

Yep… my VRP severance period is ending, as such I can say that if you are offered - get the he-l out…
When they’re not facepalming - customers are laughing at you (I am now a customer and the Pepsi dysfunction is highly visible and SAD) … the competition, in reality only slightly less bad, looks capable in comparison

@xw Hopefully another VRP offer is coming soon.

I took VRP. Best decision ever. It's very green on the other side of the fence.

This company has been doing quiet reorgs, quiet layoffs, and published news media worthy layoffs for years. They love to replace workers with recent college graduates, they allow teams to be filled with biases, and get rid of people that aren't adult toy soldiers that bend a knee. If you want to see if your job is headed out of the county look for your job title that is located in other countries. Let's not forget being overworked and being treated like garbage.

You know you can leave on your own volition right?

@fw great analogy. You can beat that mule all day long but the mule can only plow so hard and so long. I once had a rep tell that to me and I still believe it today. Please remember to the company you’re just a number on a spreadsheet. They claim to care about the people but those days have come and gone. When it comes to layoffs they’ve got their prepaid script to read off and dont care about the 20,30, and sometimes 40 years of dedication. Always remember you’re just a
number ❗️❗️❗️

Do you know what a farmer does when a plow horse can no longer plow?? It works very hard; its whole life to have an unceremonious end. Are you just waiting for the end you know is coming?

The good news is even if you do make it (and not get laid off) you now get to come in 4 days per week. Yay!

@dd layoffs will never be done! There’s always going to layoffs in the planning process

Don’t kid yourself - decisions on who goes are agnostic excel spreadsheet selections made by people who have ZERO knowledge of who you are, your skill sets, or your accomplishments

Please don’t give up getting out of this horror show. I won’t ramble on - put simply - it’s not you - it is and always has been them. Good luck joining the exodus from this failing poorly managed organization.

It’s difficult to foresee as it may not matter how hard you work if your team’s work is moved to Mexico, India or another capability center. Good luck!
