How cold can you get

I was part of the layoffs in January, a 5 minute phone call where we were put on mute. We couldn't ask questions and in an instant 12 years of loyalty was gone. I never received a phone call or email from my Manager, the person that actually hired me... — read more

Bait & Switch

So everyone is talking about the 1,600 layoffs but no one is talking about the announced new headquarters in Irving where they are hiring 1,000 new employees? Smells funny!

BEER and WEBSTER orchestrating this colossal mess.

Hammergren's checked out by now. He's done good over the years. It's these two fools with their poor thought out quick decisions feeding his ear. What does he care. Please bring Campbell back. He had sense.

would the CEO and executive team ever consider not taking a bonus or even cutting some of the fat from their own ranks?

of course not. everything is done to maximize their own value (both financial, ego, and personal power). really disappointed in the management team's handling of these layoffs across the board. if there was a performance review given of a few of the... — read more

Hey Hammergren

Do you feel better now? A few sure things: Death, Taxes, and if you work FOR McKesson, re-org and layoffs. Great business model you have there. When are you selling off MTS? Why not buy a drug company? and get your cut along the whole supply chain?... — read more

NOT DONE YET...

Just got off a call, many more to be hit in the next two weeks, most at the BU's support/operations with some management still yet to be hit. Supposed to have all notified before 4-1. Hang in there.

Severance Package

Has anyone received their official severance package that we must sign and return? I was told on Friday that it would be arriving by FedEx, and I interpreted that as it would be at my house that same day. I still have not received the packet and was... — read more

PARAGON FOLKS GET OUT NOW!!!

Paragon Employees, Get out now if you are not in the first round of layoffs this year! McKesson will be selling off software assets since they are dragging the company down (just happened with Ambulatory products), once the new company takes over... — read more

I was impacted and shocked by it. I truly empathize with all. My best advice to all is to move on quickly. Read my long post below.

It may have been LHH that told us, your job now for 8 hours a day is to find another job. I immediately did just that, even working on nights and weekends. Take advantage of LHH, esp resume writing and esp if you have an old formatted one like I did... — read more

HR will lie to you. Please check your state law on things like OT and Comp Time. Severence is to appease the state, not because McK is fair.

I was ripped off for at least $60k when I got laid off. Probably a good idea to check your state law on things like OT and Comp Time. If your SAP time is more than your clock time, you can ask for your SAP time. Most likely you can sign the severence... — read more

Redit Thread on layoffs in general

https://www.reddit.com/r/AskEngineers/comments/22uth8/during_layoffs_in_an_engineering_company_which/ Read the one from the manager (beave1) pretty detailed. This explains why things appear so normal at some BU's - the managers don't know who is... — read more
