Talent and Collaboration Solutions Unit Voluntary Separation (March 2018)

Let's Put Smart To Work?
Ginni just sent an internal blast with IBM's new slogan "Let's Put Smart to Work" with a big picture of a set of pipelines. How stupid. They're getting ready to pitch this to investors and at the big Think conference next week. This fits the logic... — read more
It's gonna be ugly.
RA this week and out by the last day of March with one month severance. You can take that to the bank. It's the same deal the folks who got RA'd in the US last month got. I seriously doubt IBM is going to become more generous. I just saw some info on... — read more
One person who desperately needs to be laid off..

Please chime in if you have details. I am hearing that here (US) non-sales IBMers who are going to be RA’d will be getting a 2 week notice and only 30 days severance instead of the standard 90 days with 30 days severance? Is this something that you... — read more

Health insurance question
So, if I am laid off, does it mean I lose my medical coverage immediately? AT the end of the month? Once I receive severance? Been trying to find an answer to this, but so far I have had no luck. I'm not all that scared of being laid off, but losing... — read more
packages offered to 55+ year olds with 5+ years of service
IBM is offering a voluntary program to those 55 and older with 5 years or more of service to quit and get a package. Seems like the uptake is not that great as the packages (varying depending on role, band, etc) are not that attractive.

Is anybody safe at IBM?
I've been reading about many layoffs that have taken place at IBM lately and I've noticed that majority of those laid off are older workers who have been with the company the longest. Yet, when I try to talk to my father about it, he keeps saying... — read more
