Intel slow failure
Intel reminds of so many companies DEC DG HP SUN MICRO WANG GOP Trump Never accept the wrong turn, no abality to change. Intel needs to cut deep 50% which will be revenue netural. Give remaing employs 3 yrs salary as incentive to turn it around by... — read more
What's the mood and sentiment like now the dust has settled after act?
Have people gone back to the way things were. Thinking it's just a one off and Intel needed to do it?
It could get a lot worse
Let's look at the sensitivity analysis of Intel losing market share to amd. For arguments sake let's assume 10% loss of market share in x86. Since Intel earns $56bn from these markets let's assume $5.6bn - No big deal right? Intel has an average... — read more
The arrogance of Intel
The virtuous cycle of growth philosophy process Intel thinks it is the entire ecosystem. Whilst companies like Apple cherry pick great solutions from vendors and add value where they are uniquely placed. Intel does everything but nothing well. We... — read more
I wonder what a company wide walk-out strike will do on the Seven-Eleven management attitude toward employees.
Guess they think they can find minimum wage high school drop outs to do design, verification and testing. Give them a try.
A must read for Intel optimists and pessimists to solidify your positions. More and worst times a coming for Intel.
https://www.semiwiki.com/forum/content/6125-apple-will-never-use-intel-custom-foundry.html Looks like someone summarizing all my points well! Anyone has a question I will be happy to answer, LOL
Is anyone else doing this?
I find myself just going to g-- meet ups and tyranny parties just to find people I can recommend to Intel. Because the bonus is doubled and they are guaranteed to get hired is a very lucrative and interesting hobby.
Intel Management crestrd the "Us vs Them" environment.
Just another observation about the corruption of Intel management. They will always have their secret, little meetings amongst themselves to determine which of "Them" will be laid-off next. They'll always protect their own asses and fire the... — read more
Intel should go to war with TSMC. Ditch x86 and use our superior process and technology to fab the f--- outta stuff. Beat them at their own game
Adopt ARM and do it better that they do.
Great place to work!
Aicha to give everyone who logged more than 1000 hrs on 7360 a free iPhone 7. Just goes to show you do good work at Intel you get rewarded.

Am looking at the benchmarks for the Zen processor, its looking pretty compelling.
AMD might not have the leading processor, but it at least seems competitive. The only problem I see is its not available until 2017.
Retention hotline and resources for all.
Until now, the retention hotline was made available to only URM employees while good non-URM employees were being walked out. Now it is available to all employees and emails arr sent to use retention resources saying "retaining telent is very... — read more
X86 on mobile platforms is dead
So what's the latest tier 1 phones using an x86 architecture. I think about a year ago, there was push for that with a few token phones that was using x86, but I don't think any exists right now... Any?
Intel late as usual and misses the boat!
PSO had a chance to do iPhone and ARM and passed, oops missed the biggest silicon usage to date. After three years BK discovers Intel design and silicon s---s at tablets and phones and embraces ARM for 10nm. Problem all the growth and business is... — read more
The future is here and it ain't x86 in silicon. Sadly Intel is poorly positioned technological and structural to capitalize which means...

Where will Intel be in end 2017? Only time will tell!
Despite what we all think about BK's leadership prowess, nothing much will change at Intel until the day some company like AMD/ARM/IBM is able to take market share away from Intel and cut off the cash cow. Intel sells processor chips at daylight... — read more

I'm staying at Intel & trying to move up technical ladder, what's the best way to do this?
ACT has opened lots of opportunities in my org. How do I keep advancing up the technical pipeline?
Looks like an ugly couple quarters for Intel with orders at TSMC going down
http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20160823PD206.html Mirrors the whole industry, all isn't going as Intel forecasted so more layoffs are coming
My Intel management said there are no more layoffs
We met the ACT targets. Hiring freeze, but no more cuts. I am in Folsom.

H1B laws were broken and abused with recent layoff. Basis for class action or federal investigation?
http://heather.cs.ucdavis.edu/Mich.pdf This is a 2003 report on the abuse of the H1B program. Shortage is not real, after layoffs many US citizens were replaced by H1Bs. The government won't go after big companies like Apple or Amazon, but Intel... — read more
Everyone uses TSMC, Intel has no chance in foundry
