Argentinas' oil prices remained high although the world oil prices collapsed (internal politics). With worlds' highest oil prices, managers in Chevron Argentina had managed to make the company one of the less profitable around the world. Instead of... — read more

Covington shutting the doors.
I heard from a reliable source that Covington is shutting the doors and relocating to Houston.
accepting job offer during 60 day WARM period
I guess anyone who was laid off during the ESP and will receive a salary until mid-June is not supposed to work at another employer or let Chevron know so they can stop the payments. As far as I know this does not affect the severance pay only the... — read more
Wondering what % of folks who were let go as part of the ROM last year are yet to submit their paperwork to receive their Pension ?
If you were let go as part of the ROM last year, have you already turned in your Pension Paperwork or are you hoping for lower interest rates and still waiting ?

I used to work in Kuwait but was repatriated and retired last year. I'm just curious if there are still any Chevron folks there or if everyone has been pulled out due to the gong show between Kuwait and Saudi? Hope everyone was able to find other... — read more

How much does it cost chevron to drill and compete wells in the Permian?
Was looking at investor presentations....those numbers....questionable
Chevron Education Assistance for ROM/ESP folks
Has anyone taken advantage of the Chevron Education Assistance for folks who were affected by the ROM/ESP ? Apparently they will pay up to 75% of tuition. Is there a time limit to apply ? what kind of programs qualify ?
Sounds like HR is ready for a functional review. Let's reduce HR by 25% in San Ramon and Houston. Whoo Hoo!
What's it mean, who knows. One the thing for sure is Joe Laymon, VP of HR has empowered this man Adam Bellone to lead the review and determine who is left standing or not. I guess it's time to get some tats, do some shots, be female, grab a beer and... — read more
Don't cancel your Chevron Life Insurance. Sell your life insurance policy instead!
Did you know that you can sell all or part of a life insurance policy you no longer need or no longer can afford? It is called a life settlement. And it provides you with the opportunity to sell all or part of an unneeded life insurance policy for... — read more
SAPNZBU Kuwait updates?
Any updates on what is going on there? I heard that Wafra might re-open, but no news about that either. Are there any expats left there in the Al-zour camp?
O&M Personnel Status
As usual the the O&M personnel except for those going with the Cox and Hilcorp properties are in the dark as to what is going to happen to them. Management isn't giving us any information as to when we will be told if they are going to stay in a... — read more
Oil is on its way up..
Expect 70s and 80s by year end. Chevron and other companies will be scrambling to hire again. Oil stocks are already starting to sizzle.
Onward and upward - I've moved on
I got some help getting my resume in order and have moved on - no looking back now. They used some weird trick with language usage and behavior to get me a more targeted resume and cover letter - http://fms.nu/resume
Open Letter to the Surviving "Chevron Leaders”: Enjoy The Calm Before the Storm, Because Hell Is Coming...
Others have noted that the volume of posts and responses on this board have dropped precipitously, particularly since the latest ESP round. Some have speculated that those who left are perhaps just ready to move on, or may still be too shell-shocked... — read more
Well I guess the CBRES inclement weather person was let go
Major street flooding and no announcement as of yet. I guess we'll just have to fall back on common sense now that mother is not there to coddle us anymore. I had better try and make it to the store before the Millenials clear out all the pop tarts... — read more

3 Fatalities in Less Than 2 Weeks? Do Those Count as a DAFW? There Will Be More as the Experience Continues to Go...
Underreporting is one thing, and everyone knows most Chevron HES metrics are blatant lies (nudge, wink). 1000 bbl oil spills offshore or into a decent sized river are usually gone by tomorrow morning, but you just can't hide bodies like you used to... — read more
it sure has gotten quiet since the ESP last week
posts to this forum dropped almost 90% since the days around ESP layoffs (April 7 - 11) and even the months before. I guess the folks who got laid off don't want to vent and the ones who still have jobs don't want to share any more gossip.
Doha failure and aftermath
Crude is tumbling in Asian trade. Wont be surprising to see crude plumb new depths in the weeks to come. Could very well set the tone for more jobs on the chopping block.

What were the layoff totals in this ESP?
Houston had 655 layoffs. Most were in MCBU. DWEP did a much better job of keeping their people. Hats off to the DWEP leadership. They actually know what they are doing unlike MCBU to retain talent for the long-term.
Let's talk SJVBU
