AWS desperately needs talented employees

However, all it can attract are average employees who also leave very quickly. Does it seem to you that new hires as such would not be able to get a job here now if they had applied a few years ago?

Does poor third-quarter results mean there will be layoffs soon?

I hope there won't be any. Considering they boasted earlier this month that 275,000 permanent and seasonal employees will be hired, there is not much logic for layoffs to happen. However, nothing would surprise me here anymore.

How hard has it been for you lately to meet quotas? Sometimes I wonder if our superiors have any common sense at all, and most of all I wonder if they would be able to make the quotas we need to keep the job? Are they realistic at all? Worst of all... — read more

Ageism

57 year old employee (and company founder) was walked out after 27 years of dedicated service. Thrown out like an old loaf of bread. Hopefully, he got an appropriate severance package and career coaching so he can get a fresh start.

Absolute sweatshop

I would love for this company to be completely left without employees, given how it treats its employees. I don’t feel like I’m working, I feel like I’m being mercilessly squeezed by a machine. I don't know what your situation is, but in my case... — read more

Pray the acquisition is denied

If you work in media, pray that the MGM merger is denied. There would be huge consolidation layoffs as a result on both sides. I don't know who'd be hit worse, but the fact is that nobody would come out of it unscathed. I know it's still at least two... — read more
