2022 Q1 Employment 23400

Up 100 people from 4Q 2021 (23,300). I find this curious, knowing there have been layoffs recently in Webster. Must have occurred in April and we will see the results in the 2Q Earnings Summary.

Fear of the truth

There are a lot of smart people who left after their work here was made difficult just because they made it clear that they didn't agree with the manager's philosophy. Here, "good" employees are only those who say what management wants to hear... — read more

Carl's Plan

If you want a peek into Carls plan for Xerox. Carl now owns 21.9% of outstanding Xerox shares as part of a nearly $900 million investment, according to the schedule 13d addendum filed with the SEC on April 22, 2022. Why is this important? Xerox... — read more

A culture of secrecy

I am so annoyed by the culture of secrecy at Xerox. Management seems to think it is perfectly fine to leave employees out of the loop. I believe there are many who have left Xerox for this very reason. Don't we deserve at least a little more... — read more

Isn't it obvious that it's not worth staying here?

The last time I visited this forum was four months ago, when I gave notice. Since then, I have been contacted by almost 10 old colleagues with a question about how I am doing in my new company and whether it is worth staying here. I'm always a... — read more

XBS

If you work for or support XBS you need to leave now. You will be out of a job in the very near future. Get out while the gettins good.

Don't expect any more major rounds

Xerox is at the stage where having a massive round of layoffs like we used to have for years is no longer feasible. Doing so would cripple the company's ability to do anything, and even our leadership isn't stupid enough to do that. What we will be... — read more

Put a fork in it

It's done. Kaput. Soon to cease being a going concern. Lump sum option will soon be a thing of the past. Grab a life jacket and jump before you get pulled under.

First Quarter Results

Revenue and profit are down but shareholders (Carl Icahn) gets 50% of free cash flow. No mention of reinvesting in the company.

No one mentions layoffs

There don't seem to be any new rumors about layoffs. Does this mean that there won't be any cuts soon?

Move on

Net-net most of you are roughly wrong sticking it out with all the pain points here. You need to get lazer focused and lean in. Think outside of the box and get that game plan together, so you can hit the ground running and start moving the needle... — read more

John V

Anyone know why John V lost so much weight? Just dieting or is he sick?

Why do you waste energy complaining?

If someone can't find a new job now, they either don't try very hard at all or they don't have any skills at all. I don’t know anyone who was serious about looking for a job that didn't get an offer. Now is the best time to find a new job. There is... — read more

What would you do to improve this place?

If you got a chance to talk to JV about the way he runs the company, what would you tell him? What things and processes would you change or remove and what would you add? Big or small? I know many here think Xerox is beyond saving but I still believe... — read more

Strike?

Is the union going to strike?

Almost at the rock bottom

Given all the bad moves of our leadership, it really surprises me that X is not in even worse shape than it is. Sheer luck. What would you say how close is X is to the ultimate failure and rock bottom?

Did anyone get a raise as of April 1st?

We had someone who was here for 4 years. First raise. For one day on this check.. I believe they are going to purchase some Kraft mac and cheese. Nevermind, not enough. Good luck to all of you.

What happens to our Russian contracts?

We obviously were shipping items, supporting Russian Xerox accounts with Russian employees. We have stopped shipping things to them and essentially doing business there. How much will that cost, between no revenue coming in from an entire country... — read more

Berkshire Hathaway takes big stake in HP

They just manage the fall

In fact, I don't worry about Xerox anymore, nor what will happen to the company in the future because I'm leaving soon, but I can't help but notice that the leadership is actually just managing the decline. They seems to have no intention to get... — read more

HP buying Poly… Sorry Xerox

HP is buying Poly for 3 billion. Xerox’s market cap is around 3 billion. Hmmm. Looks like HP so very much not interested in xerox. Cash better spent elsewhere. https://www.computerworld.com/article/3654838/hp-to-acquire-poly-for-3-3b.amp.html — read more

No one has any passion to work here anymore

Management has managed to turn employees who love their job into employees who work on autopilot. Many who have really done their job with a lot of passion have either left or been laid off. Yesterday I had a conversation with my boss who wanted... — read more

Stop telling me I'm great, show me

I'm getting so frustrated and tired of being rewarded for hard work - and by that I mean doing several jobs at once - with empty words. I don't care that I'm "the best you got" and I don't give a damn you wish you had more employees like me. Of... — read more

It’s their fault and we are the ones suffering.

The rhetoric about the constant need to cut costs and reduce the workforce sickens me at this point. The leadership creates lousy business results with their faulty decisions and the end result is the need to cut costs and reduce the number of... — read more
