Where is Raghu?

For someone that is 'steering' the ship to destination Broadcom, the captain has gone very quiet. Has he jumped overboard? Seems strange that given the situation we find ourselves in he has gone underground. But hang on, its a new FY so wait for... — read more

Let's take a break from Layoff rumors

Too many daily threads regarding layoffs and toxic culture, lets talk about something positive. When Broadcom takes over, no more DEI! No more inclusivity newsletters about what pronoun to use or what some pod is doing for themselves. Maybe we can... — read more

Future of remote work

Reposting from latest Citrix thread. Tom Krause using the same BC playbook: “TK goes on unhinged rant about remote work At the GEM. Likened it to kids skipping school, or some guy who ran a business, moved to Hawaii, and let the business fail... — read more

30% lay offs

Being planned, lay off can happen in March-April time frame.

I wouldn't get too carried away though

I wish I was one of those who think that our jobs are safer than the rest of the industry, at least for a while. However, I have no arguments for that. What are your arguments why you think we are safer than the rest in this industry?

Hoo hee

Today we learned that the VC PE had not written code since 2008, and it's doubtful they even wrote code at that time. At this company, there is no evidence that they can write code at all since there have been no commits to any shipping... — read more

My anxiety levels are through the roof

This whole layoff and acquisition thing has me on edge. I've been having trouble sleeping lately, and it's really starting to affect both my mood and my productivity. I feel like I can't concentrate anymore, and it's frustrating considering that I'm... — read more

Do not presume.

These next couple of months will be stressful for folks, I am sorry. That being said, saying everyone left VMware just because of the acquisition is just d-mb! Everyone has their own personal goals of what they want out of their job. Sure some... — read more

VMW quickly turned into a bad workplace

Just before the acquisition announcement, this was a place where I wanted to stay and progress my career. Without any exaggeration, I really loved working here. It is beyond me how is it even possible that in such a relatively short time this has... — read more

I'm not sure if I want to wait any longer

Do you still think that it is a wise decision to wait for the finalization of the acquisition and the severance pay, given that there is more and more competition on the job market and no indication of when the situation will improve?

I'm regretting I didn't quit in June

I should have quit soon after the acquisition was first announced. The last eight or so months have brought me nothing but stress and worry which increased my anxiety significantly. At that time, jobs in my field were plentiful. That's no longer the... — read more

So far I have seen four Tanzu Sales reps and one solution engineer laid off. Anyone see anymore?

Layoffs in February?

I heard that since the 25th anniversary is on 2/10 and we’re getting an EPIC day, that they’re postponing mass layoffs until after that. Has anyone heard of something similar? If it’s going to be in February, would they still have to dole out... — read more

No bonus for the laid off people

I'm starting to despise this company even though I used to love working here. What a terrible approach to layoffs! They obviously timed the layoffs so as not to pay bonuses to the employees. I wonder how much they will save on those unpaid... — read more

How to avoid lay offs

VMware 25to 30 lay off expected in a month. Here what I did in my previous company. The day of layoff I hid in the rest room until HR return to their office. It worked for me. Next day nobody showed up at my office.

RIF updates per BU? Delivery method?

Seeing in some of the threads that RIF'ing has begun. So sorry for those talented individuals already.. Any information on how the news was delivered, what the severance looks like, and what BUs this has happened in already?

Mainstream Media Silence

Many companies are having large layoffs and yet we do not hear much about in the news. Millions of people are losing jobs and the journo does not care.
