Who cares.
Take 1 was gone on Saturday hours after it opened. Its an intelligent way of providng the benefit still, of course,not taking it away but really only those who thought of it on Sat were in to win

And agree with others. It's a race. Take1 opened on Saturday and sold out by Monday. We have team-wide reminders in the month leading up to it to get your training requests in order and to submit ASAP when it opens. Managers were willing to keep an eye on requests over the weekend.
This would be impossible for regular teams with a solid work/life balance.
But it is a good idea to plan aggressively for next time.

You can't be reimbursed for courses you've already taken. You need to wait until you get approval to purchase the training, only then can you be reimbursed.
Uncertainty is driving people to re-train, update their certs - funding ran out within hours of it opening.
Budget is the same, just more people trying to better themselves, just incase the worse happens and they need to get a job elsewhere.
