Office COVID

To the person who posted about not returning to office- covid cases are on the rise …my team alone has been decimated by it and are mostly back at home this week. Give it a couple weeks before we all are….this sh** is never ending

Peter Principle

How is it that the person accountable for billions of cost overruns and massive schedule delays on projects like Saddle West, Napanee, various pipeline loops and Coastal Gaslink gets rewarded with a CEO job elsewhere? I mean it’s cool they built... — read more

Just a quick question

Nothing would suit me better than a voluntary layoff. Is there any chance that they will offer that option as well?

TechCentre Layoffs start date?

When are they starting and how do I get included? I want to get packaged out of this joke of a company that’s taken a total turn downhill since Russ’s departure

Hot Air

To the post below, yes. Interesting that TC preaches ethics, collaboration and integrity. Huge lie. I know Directors on the take with wife in contracts. Racists Managers who promote others on the good ol boy system and southern charmers. Yes, the... — read more

Lucky to have a job

I still can't believe that my manager told me I can only feel lucky to have a job. I guess that's a "reward" for all my efforts so far. Have you ever been told that?

OpenText is awful!

Who decided to bring in this piece of trash! It has added so much time to my work in supply chain! The damn project has been going on forever and feels like we have had about 20 different PMs. I’m sure this was cheap to implement as well.

Our new CEO is such a crock

How can he sit in a zero talks and a safety standown and say that contractors are one of us and they are no different than a full time employee when we just branded all our contractors with contractor in their email and forced them to change their... — read more

Growth Potential

I'm really interested in what the quarterly results will be and so I'm reading some analysts' predictions. I find it most interesting to see that they think the company has “Significant Growth Potential”. Okay, maybe it has, but how much is it... — read more

So much sexism

My last post disappeared but this needs to be said. There is so much sexism at this company. If you're female and you address it, you're out the door. Women have to work 3 times as hard to get 1/3 of the recognition. At the town hall, Francois... — read more

MLK Day Off?

What’s the point of having today off if I’m forced to be on conference calls all day so my CND manager can have upward exposure! Hey look at me my team is working today, I’m a great manager! Such looser.

Layoffs in the tech centre

Project insight should be done next month. Be prepared for a ton of cuts as they look to do more with less.

Voluntary exit

The company needs to take a look at the moral. There are so many people who are miserable but staying with the company for the PSU. If they offered voluntary layoff instead of these constant re orgs and lay offs the company would be a much better... — read more

Sad

Man is this place going downhill fast. Death by a thousand cuts. A layoff here, a layoff there, more piled onto desks. Poor or nonexistent leadership. Lack of clear and open communication. CFO has no backbone. Hard conversations aren’t being had... — read more

Has TC lowered the criteria when hiring?

This is just one example - TC got rid of a man who was very skilled, capable and from whom many of us could learn a lot. Now, instead, my colleague is a person whose skills are so bad that I don’t even know how that person got the job here in the... — read more

Short time stress for long term good?

Diversity and inclusion?

Interesting to read the posts as it pertains to D & I. What I have observed is their is no team just a bunch of I’s. You do have bullying in the sense it’s me, my way and no, don’t speak mentally. You just have to brush it off, the company is trying... — read more

Early retirement and more layoffs

Pretty obvious from that town hall this morning that massive layoffs are in the works. They offered early retirement to 15% of the workforce. To me that means TC needs to cut a significant number of employees. It's gonna get brutal.
