Thread regarding TransCanada Corp. layoffs

Early retirement and more layoffs

Pretty obvious from that town hall this morning that massive layoffs are in the works. They offered early retirement to 15% of the workforce. To me that means TC needs to cut a significant number of employees. It's gonna get brutal.

While some people were released ...one way or another, others kicked out a while back ...returned as ADVISORS...seriously?!?!?!?! Do we need ADVISORS who have a hard time speaking and writing English..."QUALITY" work, huh - Come on!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone should investigate who hires them, who recommends them, and so on.

No one should apply for the voluntary retirement program. The company shouild be forced to layoff personnel with proper severance being paid instead of offering a haircut via an application process.

Wait, what? Townhall? You mean the link that didn’t work? Yea I’m not surprise, well at least the summer interns can brag that they worked for diverse incompetent company with way too many processes to complete a $50k project. Hey I got an idea, let’s tie up everybody’s schedule for two hours to complete 20 slide PowerPoint to ask for $50k. Oh and by the way you will stay on for the whole two hours. Unless you’re married to your co-worker then you can leave.

And don’t forget their husband/wife/partner are will still keep their role. You got to be woke and married to your coworker to keep a job.

Seems most people are not taking the voluntary retirement. Definitely lots of layoffs in the future. Have heard US projects and construction services, some support teams will be hit hard with "re-orgs".

I'm looking forward to more 30 year old Directors and 40 year old VP's. Their vast experience, emotional maturity and bold leadership are a treat to deal with and very healthy for the culture and success of the company.
