Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

All We Are Is A Logo In A Sporting Event

Why is it i can't watch any sporting event without seeing gobs of att product shots. I mean, FFS... the headphones, the endzone cameras, halftime shows, pregame shows, post-game, trophy presentation. There's no end to how much we spend on trash that nobody cares about.

Who really believes that ATT stadium makes us a better company? Maybe if the cowboys didn't su-k, that would be something. But, seriously.. I am so tired of seeing at&t on everything. How many employees do we fire to have our stupid logo on every side of the coaches headset? It doesn't work you id--ts! Our products su-k because you would rather have a stupid stadium than have world class products at a reasonable price.

Why can't we just be the best at voice and data? What have these endless sponsorships ans placements done to make this a better company?

@a6 agreed, a ridiculous waste of cash. this is just an ego boost for the same group on numbnuts that put t in the spot it is in now. everyone knows att, and there is a lot of bad brand equity that att carries. T had the chance to change the name post the various sbc mergers and the old guys really thought that att brand had value.. in today's internet /streaming world, the t brand is negative. spending to attempt to convince people otherwise is foolish. also, the general ad campaigns have been cringy. I do think the latest transfer portal one is clever - but that aint gonna get new subs.

Pretty awesome to have our name on the Cowboys stadium. It's for the big boys.

D-mbest thing ever. I bet we’ve never sold a single new account because our name was on these things.

@a4 did some a$$ hat in MARKETING just say above your pay grade 😂😂😂. The most dead weight in the company exists in marketing, they’re just kept around because they make slightly more than minimum wage.

I wish my company would have sponsored something and see our logo. I would be so proud to see Trojan man fully inflated and proud to be watching him on headsets and relaxing in the dugout before going to workout in the gym and float freelessly in the pool and hot tub.

@a4

Pathetic answer. Above my pay grade. You have no idea my pay grade.

If you're so smart, tell me why we need our name on the headset mic in order to close a deal? Tell me one person in the developed world who hasn't heard of AT&T. Surely we have the clout to buy box seats without having to have our name on the marquee (sign).

The question is, how much do we spend on this and what has it returned? "Branding" makes you sound as trite as those high schoolers who drop marketing lingo they read on a effing cereal box.

Above your pay grade. With endorsements come free box seats for the favored CSuite members and gets the branding out there. Marketing 101
