When AI finally becomes real, the jobs that have been offshored will be replaced by AI. India will be hit hard.

0.4% sounds too high/good. If that was the number, you’d need to submit 250 applications to jobs you are qualified for to find a job.

George W. bush exploded the number of H1B visas and the companies exploring them never looked back. Every president since said they would do something about it and never did. The corporations are bribing...er, giving campaign contributions, to both side since Citizens United said corporations are people now.

@b6 OPT can only work for 1 year post graduation. They can apply for a second year in STEM areas so doubtful this is any threat.
I’ve seen more jobs lost to offshoring and now automation than H1b. Those offshored jobs never come back.

Something even worse than H1B is OPT - which have no cap and no oversight and they are about 10 times the number of H1B.
Insult on injury is that govt even give companies tax incentive to hire OPT.
