I guess no awards this year. The bank needs to drop thousands of jobs to meet their efficiency target, I assume this is the start to get people to leave in their own.

That means there's more work to do! We need to be a solid #1 in efficiency ratio. Maybe pizza party in leau of bonus one year would get us there.
Using efficiency ratio as a talking point to justify low salary increases and bonus was an outright lie. Search "efficiency ratio of the top 5 US banks" BofA is number 2, right behind Chase.
@vn the real question is how do you not know that this info comes out every January and then run to this site in mid January to post something. People like you are exhausting.
How does the value of the about of shares compare to prior years? Not the volume of shares we may receive but the amount of money the entire pool is worth. Just wondering if it’s more or less.
@tm see last four years of sharing success awards.
Bank of America has approximately 213,000 total employees as of early 2026.
The company announced on January 20, 2026, that it is awarding $1 billion in restricted stock through its Sharing Success Program to non executive employees, which covers about 96% of its workforce (excluding senior management 😔).
This equates to nearly 19 million shares based on the current stock price.
With roughly 204,480 eligible non executive employees (96% of 213,000), the average award per eligible employee is about $4,891 in value.
At Bank of America's current stock price of approximately $53 per share, this translates to an average of about 92 shares per eligible employee.
To arrive at this average number of shares:
Total award value: $1,000,000,000
Number of eligible employees: 213,000 × 0.96 = 204,480
Average value per employee: $1,000,000,000 ÷ 204,480 ≈ $4,891
Current stock price: $52.97 (using the most recent close)
Average shares: $4,891 ÷ $52.97 ≈ 92.3 (rounded to 92)
@td no immediate benefit to many as everyone leaving the bank, paid as RSU's maturity in next 4 years
@OP article on Reuters today!! Sharing success happening. https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/bofa-award-stock-worth-1-billion-non-executive-employees-2026-01-20/
@OP Historically, those announcements come out between earnings release and the last week of the month. Wouldn't count them out yet.
Efficiency ratio is down to 61%. Other than those little under the radar cuts, I don't see them doing big layoffs. Wonder how many plan on leaving once bonuses are paid out.
