We have enough intelligent people inside the organization. Cost saving? I don't think so. It usually takes much longer to get low quality work based on my experience with Indian.
Now we oursource our manufacturing jobs to China and white collar jobs to India. What has been left for our younger generation? Must be some dark powers that work behind this, let alone of the greedness of capitalist.

Carelon exists so Elevance can bill Elevance and cook the books. More offshore more profit. Care is reserved for leadership, not members.
@1c8 while off shoring has its problems - don't forget Carelon has been called Careless for a long time. No sense of urgency, cannot or will not speak to members. Lack of leadership lack of teamwork, overall why do they exist. One of the most worthless depts in the place.
AI promises will equal more offshoring. Only way for leadership to save face after seeing the AI bill. From their perspective, that’s a next quarter problem.
@1av I second that! The work ethic oversees is really cr-ppy. Then when you add week long holidays into the mix it’s like the offshore workers don’t work at all. A different company I worked for sent all way jobs overseas and it sc--wed us over royally. The company bussed the people into work every day so not one person could stay late to complete work and we would get stuck doing it. And no one had any problem solving skills. When I’m trying to do my job I would get constant questions, often the same ones over and over again. Or they would flat out not do something I ask me to “ do the needful”. They've moved jobs offshore because it's cheaper. It's NOT because they are smarter or have better work ethics. It's all about corporate greed.
I agree it is so sad. And of course no presidents talk about it. Changing it/not allowing it because the big business pays them off..We have some companies that come to us for insurance and refuse to allow anything to be sent offshore. I love those companies.

Those Indian diplomas seem to bring US employment to many H1B workers. I don’t think corporations would hire them if the results weren’t superior. That would add nothing to the bottom line.
@hs Most Indian diplomas are useless. Even more useless than a high school diploma from a big blue city DEI high school.

Other countries focus their curriculum on strong math and science education. US schools focus on feel good classrooms. Guess which approach leads to better work results?

A higher up makes a lot of money, logic is pretty easy. Their younger generation will be just fine. Globalism + Capitalism is the issue. You get to feel good, because you are say you are uplifting the world, while making a ton of money in the process.
