I first asked my supervisor here in Bloomington Minnesota and learned that on December 15th we shall be informed that our office is closing. Most of us are very happy to be laid off because we are all so done with this $chitt-hole place and are looking forward to the awesome termination package we get per our union contract. We get up to 2 years pay for those of us with over 31 years service. We're already celebrating! Sorry to the managers who only get a tiny fraction of what we union members get. Funny how we've all watched as all of our work, piece by piece, has become automated or off-shored - and we can only laugh about it.

Upper manager here just trying to help the good folks of Minnesota prepare. The Bloomington closing announcement is indeed happening December 15th.
@pj VTP & ITP nets the same payout so most of us will be happy with either. We'll be LOL on paid vacation for 2 years.
@g1 spoken like a true loser.
LOL. You ain't going anywhere as long as you have VTP in your contract. Once that's gone, you're gone. Merry xmas.
I am grateful to be getting laid off.
WTF do we need low talent living near the mall of murica. Get to the office in Dallas, LA, or Atlanta you losers!
Good deal. You all are winning!
@ar a bit late considering almost 40 per cent of the workforce has been laid off , will you use this on HR and SLT ?
@OP This is actually sad news for those you are still need to work. But more cuts coming next month and beyond- you betcha AT&T is looking at all management who are considered operational- level 1 to 2. So these people have task that they have to complete and work and there’s monetary numbers against these said task. Starting next year layoffs almost every month and they will be using AI versus Excel because it’s much easier to ID high cost employee against completed task, so they can be more strategic with their layoffs .
WoW, two years of pay! Talk about a Christmas bonus! You all gonna be rich.
@ab don’t look back keep running !!!!!!
WTF! 2 years! Run out the door and NEVER think about this place again!
@OP how hilarious I asked a VP why work was shored off to Chicago a non hub , He replied Chicago and Bloomington are growth locations . Now we have VP’s bulls**ting to oust people . All he wanted to do is save USA jobs at the expense of any location outside USA .
@OP no one cares about bargained workers. You people are responsible for a lot of our problems. Years of wasted contingency planning because of our sissified bargained workforce. Zero tears or ephs given. Thanks for the early Christmas gift.
