You heard it here first. This time next year there will be news of T-Mobile headquarters being moved from Bellevue WA to Overland Park KS. Final move will be 2030, following expiration of contract with Bellevue. T-Mobile has been in talks with KS reps and are close to a deal surrounding lower taxes. It's true. HR support teams were told over the last few days... Move to OP or be let go, the future of HR will be in OP. DK and Heddy want all their minions where they can see them, at their desks in Kansas.

@tt won't matter when the Royals build the new stadium over the Aspira campus. Old Sprint campus is a gonner

@tr Sorry but Kansas is very progressive. As an example, recreational abortion is readily and widely available. You can stop with the left-wing/right-wing rhetoric. Yawn. Nobody cares.

You are all so stupid....no one wants to live in KC. No one important. That is why the C-Suite and SVP's fly to KC and Dallas not vice-versa. The only reason there is a Dallas office is bc of JF. The minute he leaves, Dallas is closed too, even though it is a 5/10 city, because of the tornadoes.

@OP T-mobile will be priced out of Bellevue. The new socialist mayor of Seattle is going to tax businesses out of the city and most will just relocate to Bellevue driving up office leases. Tmo doesnt own the Factoria offices and the lease expires in 2030.

@m6 Riiight. Do the math, Einstein.

Here's a comparison from Salary . com

Living in Overland Park, KS is -30.2% less expensive than living in Bellevue, WA.
Additionally, employers in Overland Park generally offer -12.1% lower salaries compared to those in Bellevue.

From Best places The cost of living in Bellevue, Washington is 85.1% more expensive than Overland Park, Kansas.

The execs know this. They move it all to KS, they can lower salaries between 12-30% and nobody knows the wiser. Corporate Real estate is also going to be between 12-30% less.

@a6 you are so d-mb. 100% chance it stays in Bellevue and Dallas. KC is toast, we are using the Royals as an excuse to exit. Trust me, I am always right.

This will not happen. Read the news (KC Royals), look at the corporate layoffs - hitting KC too. We are closing KC, moving everything back to Bellevue and Dallas, and will cut all KC and remote staff by 2028. The cost cutting will continue and our long term prospects su-k as Starlink recently announced (subtly) their intention to wipe us out...but wait there is more....

With the shameless restructuring of network engineering and operations, promoting foolish leaders Ma coughman and laying off long time magenta Folks, Ms Ames has pulled all all her leadership in KC. That b...ch needs to go....change it back to sprint don't pretend it is T-Mobile

@dv AT&T had a pretty big foot print in the Seattle area that moved to Dallas 15 years ago. That is what I was referring too. My wife worked there at the time and we seriously considered making the move.

@dq this sounds like MSC consolidation to me. No secret that company wants to move repetitive tasks to MSC. Finance is ripe for that

@d5

AT&T hq has always been in Texas. They moved it from San Antonio to Dallas about 15 years ago. Rumors now say they want out of Dallas and to the suburbs.

I was told to prepare a list of team members that report to me that must move to OP or be laid off in 2026. These are people that aren't currently in OP, but their jobs will be moving there.

I'm in the Finance org

@OP West Coast is always hours behind the rest of the Nation and by the time they are at work, most of the day has passed. There are no financial reasons why non-area specific functions are located in a high cost cul-de-sac at the end of the world.

It’s possible - Washington State leadership is off the rails with taxes. Microsoft recently shared they will move out of state if the tax situation doesn’t change.

This is no different than AT&T moving a majority of their offices down to Texas 15 years ago.

I think this was only a matter of time. Telecom is a very competitive low-margin industry. The only people working in high-cost areas should be frontline workers (retail). and NetOps to ensure network is working.

A large portion of HR was notified they need to move to OP by August 2026 or be laid off just this past week. Seems very likely more LOBs will hear the same soon

Agreed. I don’t know anyone who enjoys living and paying taxes in Washington. The cost of living is outrageous. Kansas has a far greater talent pool and is known world wide as a tech hub (without WA costs) but

Of all the crazy things posted here this one is logical and makes sound financial and operational sense. 1. the cost of business of which payroll is the biggest will be 20-30% lower (if not more) and 2. from an operations POV, it will be much better to be centrally located in the USA allowing better oversight and leadership to the 4 corners of the USA. I would not be surprised if timeline is accelerated as TMO leadership absorbed a $100M loss on the buildings on the other side of the freeway about 2 years ago.
