Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Relo information

Yes, we have been told anyone and everyone not currently working at an approved KNL will get their letter next week. Under 50 miles you will be expected to report to your new location the 1st week of March. Greater than 50 miles you have 60 days to say yes or no. If you say yes, you have till March 2027 to report. If you say no, you go to the surplus list and expect to be layed off by June 2026.

Putting this up for visibility.

@OP So if I say yes to the move I can buy more time, what if my location is closing in two months? If I end up not moving after saying yes I will still get paid more than the surplus package

Changing an employee working location is worthless of they aren't physically reporting there and registering badge swipes and LAN usage. Leadership and HR can see that data veur easily aa we know and than a manager and employee will be asked to explain the discrepancies

@fe it’s interesting managers are changing employees work locations in webphone left and right, it appears to be the primary strategy to save employees. Clearly they don’t think there will be consequences. I guess we shall see. My guess is the employee will get sc--wed.

“If I change my address on Workday to a location more than 50 miles from a KNL this week, will I still get the letter?”

“No, but you will get a COBC violation.”

The date I heard was closer to end of month, I think the last week. Was date moved up to 9th, or announcements throughout month?

“None of them live within 2 hours of any of the KNL’s and will not be moving.”

If not able or willing to meet basic industry standards, it’s time to go.

Confirming @e7. Walters org, our Directors warned the vulnerable ones already that the letters are coming. We will be losing 3 of the most experienced and knowledgeable people in my immediate org, all or whom were hired remote and have been for 15+ years. None of them live within 2 hours of any of the KNL’s and will not be moving. 2 of them regularly communicate with AVP’s, so good luck repl ing that with AI, college kids, and 3rd worlders.

“ Do you actually think that L3's stand tall?”

I was simply responding to the statement that was made in one of these posts claiming that this plan was impacting all in the Legg org, and had been communicated by all VPs to all of their Directors. That is a false statement.

Stifle your misplaced anger.

This is a Walters / NPC&E thing, not Legg or Anthony or others. This board is full of people saying things aren't true or are true - but it is all handled differently based on Org. This org never had the location based cuts other groups already went through but now its coming.

KNLs are in addition to hubs, we're a field supporting org, so its like 30-40 cities. who knows what logic the final list was based off of but at one point they talked about big cities like with NFL teams big. I saw a list already a month or two ago so it can't be that big of a secret if you're in the org.

I heard also letters 1/9, 60 days to decide, 18 months to report if you say yes, and if you say no you'll be surplussed.

Gonna ki-l morale even further. Who wants to see people they rely on who are really good employees struggling for next 18 months to find a new job or just sitting around waiting to be surplussed because they are in the wrong place? Stupid.

@ah Where are these listed, because KNI is something most of us have never heard about? Is this another item on that stupid “Where and how we work” site?

@bs I’m an L3 in Legg org. Have received no such communications.

Do you actually think that L3's stand tall? You have been with the company long enough to know that L3's (Directors, not IC's) have been neutered of their authority and are slowly being replaced by L2 AD's. The L3 IC's had to have the experience and degree to get their positions, where as the directors don't even need a degree in engineering to attain the position. If you have the correct amount of MTS titles under you, you could be an MTS director with a liberal arts degree like my director!

@ar There are many jobs for b2b field sales posted online in many different locations that are nowhere near any KNLs. This is a big company what goes on in ATS doesnt happen everywhere.

Don’t Key Network Locations only apply to Network, as in the Anthony org?

@ac There are 41 Key Network Locations (metros). It can be found online and impacts every functional organization
