I've been watching the number closely, and it had been going up, but as of Saturday 3/28, 6:40 AM - down to 165,527. Around 1600 people less than the last time I looked.
Buckle up - maybe Tuesday the 31st is really the day.

@bx you said last time you checked the count was 1600 higher. I am telling you that last time the count was 1600 higher than right now was back on October 2025.
To prove it, as of 4:29 eastern on Saturday, the general tab is 165,542.
Not a troll.
I’m not a troll - I know that someone else tracks this and lists it, but it does seem like it’s down as of Friday.
Not everyone here is a troll - some are just worried they are going to lose their job on Tuesday.
@as yawn
@aw the count is 165,526 right now
to clarify exactly how I know that OP lied.
he claims last time he checked it was 167127 total count in Slack.
According to my daily tracking the last time this total was observed was Oct27, 2025 3pm UTC: 167120
OP is a troll and is lying as usual, I track daily since September 02, here is regular current thread: https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1kmdzhpjt
Mass layoff started Mar24-25. The totals for the whole March are so far:
1618 reductions, and 746 additions.
Since this a--hole started counterfeiting Slack totals again, I have to start a new thread on the front page.
@OP
Slack is not realtime, nor is it precise. Think weathervane, no wind speed, no temp, just directional.
