Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Are they really canceling unvested RSUs ?

Long standing BNY employee here with unvested RSUs maturing over 4 years running into $200K.

Now concerned that my time is up. Is there any truth to the rumor that they are canceling RSUs if you are fired?

@av #1 that comment was disgusting. #2, if you’re a responsible adult, $200k should be $2k to you ($2 to the especially responsible and very lucky 🍀). If not, figure it out if you’re so bright. Complainers are so weak!!

All the best.

In my case, the only thing that changed was federal tax liability for all future years were all frontloaded into this calendar year. BNY paid (fronted) the cash to the Treasury Dept. When my next round of RSUs vest, then BNY will repay itself the amount of cash they fronted, so I will have a small payout this February 2026.

Otherwise, no change on my RSUs. I was laid off this past spring.

$200,000 in current value RSU’s?
Who’s fire hose did you have to orally service for that?
Hint: if they can sc--w you out of it, they will.
They will never pay that if they can weasel out.
